Clutch shudder due to bad pilot bearing

Replacing a faulty pilot bearing of a 1996 Mercedes Benz E220. This was causing the car to shudder during partial clutch engagement while taking off.

This is very helpful. I've had shudder in my e46 bmw for months now (while the clutch is disengaging) It has also been difficult to get into gear and recently the gears will occasionally grind! Will be doing this fix as soon as possible!

What turned out to be the problem, was it the pilot bearing or the flywheel?

Bro I was driving my rx8 that I just got but the clutch is already bad, I was out driving it hard in the rain but the clutch was stinking the whole time and slipping really bad through all the gears but after a few minutes of driving no matter what gear I put it onto it revs all the way but the car doesn't move, It completely stopped but I can still press the clutch and the gearstick still moves....

Sporadic shudder on take off, auto transmission, can be the same? I have many garages that don't know what's happening. I need some input. Valve body is reported as clean and perfectionaly functional.

Your clutch looks incredibly wobbly, maybe check out your output shaft bearing.

I get judder when pulling away but only after maybe an hour of city driving, perhaps even the metal had gotten hot

Is the piolt bearing constantly engaged or only when in gear? My truck makes a whirling bearing noise when accelerating in gear and gets louder with higher rpms. The noise goes away when pushing in the clutch or cruising in neutral. Can hear it in all gears except 4th for some odd reason.

The bearing is constantly engaged to locate the clutch even when the clutch is disengaged and engaged

you have bad transmission bearings ...4th gear is direct so the noise decreases

Sir I really need your help in this clutch sounds. There are no hard shifting in gear transmissions, everything is normal. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoetdHiIoNyGaNk Sir, it happens only after replacing with new clutch. And this sound did not come with the old clutch. Any ideas or suspect regarding pressure rings getting hard...? And how to identify hard pressure rings?
