Old South Dog Boxes
These guys build the best dog boxes I’ve seen!
I was looking around for a company that made dog boxes that would fit in my Side by Side and couldn’t find anything.
I got in touch with Old South Dog Boxes and they are able to make custom builds!
They are building me a dog box that will fit exactly what I need.
They make a diverse range of dog boxes, dog trailers, and bird rigs for bird hunters.
Check them out and let them know that Brett from Born 100 Years Too Late sent you!

Skito Saddle Pads
I was in the market for a new saddle pad after my old one wore out.
Agnes, my riding mule, has a bad back and it makes a big difference to have a good saddle pad.

Ellis Canvas Tents
I reached out to Ellis Canvas Tents because I was just not too happy with my sleep system. I had seen their products before and was really impressed with the "Cowboy Bedroll". They sent me one to try and can say that so far it is the best I have used for Cowboy Camping.
Soon I hope I can get one of their Canvas Tents

My buddies and i did a pack trip like that through our national forest. Its been probably 20 years ago now, but i still get to relive the trip and i just told my neighbor about it a couple weeks ago. You are right about how it makes you feel alive waking up every day and travelling through new country. Great memories. Got a pair of pretty good mules i believe Brett. I like em.

Another wonderful video. I so enjoy your story telling and your videos. This is one of my favorites so far. I'm an old wannabe cowboy and would have loved to been able to do a long trail ride like you and your Friend did. Not sure I could handle the cold as my blood is too thin. As I get older I can appreciate your Dad enjoying his memories. I have a ton of them and I enjoy going down memory lane. Enjoy the time you have with your Dad, you may be surprised at how much you will miss him when he is gone. Thank you for sharing your days and your stories, maybe one day our trails will cross and we can share a nice campfire and a drink. I would really like that.

You are so right about getting busy doing things. I'm the same age as you and recently retired. I have watched those two rides many times. I'm appreciate you taking the time on this video to explain your route. I've hiked up towards diamond peak, but never to the top. hiked up to reeds peak when I was young. Want to go around from the north second to the animas and back to North to Hermosa. I also loved the Jeremiah Johnson tune on the 2nd trip.

That brings back a memory here too. Started at the visitor center, small group packed in, went up and over into the East Fork. Stayed a couple nights then back out. Never camped before, first morning it was just getting light as the canyon wrens were waking up the world. Then I hear something big coming, it walked right up to the tent, sniffed the tent! My friend didn't even hear it! It went on, I get my nerve up to unzip that tent to peek square at a big brangus bulls butt. Thank God...thought it was a bear!

But the creature comforts of present day , well some of present day comforts are welcome. Like an ice cold beer on a hot day..would appreciate more videos like this Bret, of your past trips..the freedom of these trips with pack mules I find extremely appealing 🇦🇺🇺🇸👍 34:25 be great watching your new adventures too Bret👍

Loved it So many questions like unbranded doc was awesome and your video adventure was amazing. The pack animals carry everything and I thought about old western years and what they brought. I doubt cowboys would just travel with dry beans and jerky and a pot and a wool blanket… Would you ever consider doing an overnight with just cowboy gear .. men were tougher back then lol Because there wasn’t any luxury . Long travels were by wagon before trains. Makes a guy wonder . Thanks for sharing.

Necessities.....I did a lot of solo white-water camping, canoe trips. 3 to 5 days. I did the Allagash, river only from the Churchill bridge to the St. John River, 3 relaxing days if it's not tourist season. Got to Allagash falls where you better portage, uphill a way then downhill a way, a little rough going. I could portage my canoe and 3 day supplies in one trip. I'm sitting at the bottom of the falls watching the salmon try to jump the falls when 4 canoes came over the portage. They dropped the canoes and headed back for supplies. On their 4th trip they were huffing and puffing. I said, "you find out necessities real quick out here don't you" I can't post the reply.
