Today I'm taking a look at the E-Yooso Z-11. This a wired 60% mechanical gaming keyboard with hot-swappable switches available in multiple colors. While all versions of the basic Z-11 come with a yellow backlight (though there is an RGB version), you do get a choice between red linear switches and blue clicky switches. Also, each version comes with a different color scheme on the keycaps, as well as an addition orange space bar and orange escape key as seen in the thumbnail.
In the video I mention that this keyboard packs in all of the features seen in the non-RGB K630 from Redrago. After playing around with the RGB Z-11 (review coming soon), I'm now starting to think that these keyboards are actually Redragon clones. More on that in the future video.

This is a really well made video and a great review. I've noticed that these go on sale pretty often, and the discount can be up to a straight $12 off or 40%, or at least those are the biggest I've seen. I bought a blue switch monochrome version for $17 shipped, and then a couple weeks later I snagged an RGB version with red switches for $21. I think these are a crazy good value at that price. Nice metal top plate and very solid. They sound great when you add foam in the bottom, mod the stabilizers and put on some nice keycaps. The red switch one I haven't modded and it sounds good as is.

I paid slightly more for my RGB red switch version, but only by a couple of dollars. When I bought it the base price was $40 (now it's $35) and discounts brought to around $25. Here's a small spoiler for the review of the RGB model: it's a clone of the Redragon K617 Fizz. It's even compatible with the customization software on Redragon's website, so you can remap the keys, set up macros, and get more light modes.

Nice video! I picked up a budget board from E-Yooso a few months back and once modded, it's actually quite nice and premium-sounding. Outemu/Mill-Max hotswap sockets can seem limiting at first, but there are actually lots of switches out there that do work fine in them. Obviously Outemu switches work fine, but switches from Akko, BSUN, and KTT also work as well. Many Haimu switches work too but not all of them though. I do not know who manufacturers them, but I picked up some Chilkey Sprout Green tactiles and they work great in these sockets as well.

A fantastic review indeed. I today got delivered my E-Yooso Z11 keyboard. While working on MS Excel, I was looking for arrow keys, and couldn't find them. Thought, I made a mistake in making this purchase, but after going through your video, realized that the arrow keys are very much there on this keyboard as well. Though, and since I am a bit dim-witted, it'll take some time for me to get climatized to the usage of the arrow keys. A very helpful video, indeed ! Thanks and cheers.

Cheap mechanical keyboards can be the real deal, if you hack it, I mean lubing the switches it has, tapping the back of the circuit putting a sound dampener inside and fixing the support of big keys with fabric tape, buy a keycap or two with a nice design and voila!, you have a really nice keyboard!

In that case you might want to check out some of the newer keyboards from Redragon. The K628, K631, and the K530 Pro all have 5 pin sockets. I have reviews up for the K628 and K631 already.

If you already have the RGB version, you might want to go ahead and download the software for the Redragon K617. The cheapest ones I know of are the Redragon K628, K631, and K530 Pro (make sure it's the Pro and not the original). They're the lowest cost models that I know of that use sockets for hot-swap. Every lower cost board I've seen (including the rest of Redragon's lineup) uses sleeves, and those are limited to Outemu and their clones when it comes to compatibility.

It's mostly personal preference. I like red more because clicky switches get on my nerves after a while. Others prefer the blue switches for the tactile feedback.

Also, if you ever get tried of red you could always just buy a batch of a different kind of switch to plug into your Z-11 since it is hot-swappable. Just make sure they're 3 pin and compatible with sleeve hot-swap.

As someone who hates RGB and still has the stubborn oldschool feeling that "wired is better", this is perfect. Edit: I bought it, very happy with the purchase. 100% keyboard to 60% is like going from 60hz monitor to 144hz monitor. You don't get how much it matters until you try it.
