I know a lot of people would say that the men's money in the bank felt like it was wasted here, but you have to look at the narrative. CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are out to do terrible things to each and so far, CM Punk has constantly robbed Drew of multiple opportunities at the world title and this continues that narrative. Besides, I'd argue this failed cash in was better than any other failed ones. Not to mention gave the fans a reminder that we also have a Seth Rollins and CM Punk feud to look forward to in the future. Whole match was set up to introduce Fatu to the WWE audience. They did it well. Especially after Orton gave him the ddt and the look on his face when he saw Fatu just standing there, was gold. With Roman coming back, Solo's Bloodline has to look strong. And with Jacob Fatu looking so strong and Solo pinning Cody, it gives them credibility. Which is needed. I'm sure Roman will have the Usos to square up against G.O.D., but who is going to square up against Jacob? Who is going to be Roman's third member? Is it going to be Hikuleo or Zilla?

Im almost certain with those spots, this is why certain wrestlers are not in the MITB, both male and female. Every was complaining about Dakota Kai not being in it. Dakota Kai who came back from major injury not too long ago. Producers of the triple threat qualifiers prob go to the wrestlers and lay out the PPV spots and see who was willing to do/take them. The only reason why he won the world title at Mania and the MITB briefcase Saturday was because he is feuding with one of the biggest megastars in the industry. I really enjoyed MITB this year, unfortunately I missed the men’s match and Bron vs Sami because of some medical issues, but watching the rest of it was great. My favorite match was a toss up between Seth and Damian, and Bloodline vs Cody Randy and Kevin. That little botch with Damian though, I was concerned for a minute that he was legit hurt

Yeah I'll admit it does seem like they could've done this without the briefcase but at the same time though Drew winning the briefcase just to have Punk ruin his cash in does show how vile Punk is gonna get to cost Drew

They should have brought punk during mitb ladder match so that mitb briefcase wouldn't needed to be wasted.

@@justinhawk835 feel like it would've either way kinda similar to Priest last year considering Cody most likely ain't dropping the championship til at least Mania 41 and Gunther likely will win the World Heavyweight championship then hold it probably for a year or more

While questionable, there is some logic to it. 1. Since Damien Priest just held the MITB for a long time before cashing in, it somewhat makes sense to add some variety and have the men's MITB be the early cash-in, rather than the women's one. 2. If Gunther is winning at Summerslam, we all know him and Cody aint losing their titles for a while, so it then makes the most sense to sacrifice the men's MITB briefcase because we know they aint winning those titles 3. If Gunther and Cody are going to be champs long term, then you may as well use the MITB briefcase to advance another feud, and since Punk has history of screwing Drew out of title matches, its the easy route to go 4. Drew is now out of options to get back into the WHC picture - there's no rumble, elimination chamber, #1 contender's matches, MITB briefcases for him to win. he lost his title match at clash at the castle, and Gunther has the title shot at Summerslam by virtue of winning KOTR. He's gonna crash out hard and this turns his feud with Punk into like a blood feud. Coincidentally, they just announced a PLE called Bad Blood in OCT, and this makes it justifiable that Punk and Drew's first match can be a match type that's usually considered a feud ender - say Hell in a Cell 5. The way it went down, it looks like Rollins may be drawn into this feud or they're planting early seeds for a mania match with punk, since he's the collateral damage here and can't challenge for the title (at least while Priest is champion).

I disliked the Bron loss at first. But when I thought about it more there is a good way to play this. For one thing it takes away the pressure of being undefeated and maybe getting the crowds to turn on him. Show that he has some faults. Like he needs to up his mental game a bit. Or find that next level. Which I think will really happen in a feud with Cena.
