Tip on the Eye of ender navigation that will save you a huge amount of effort: dig out or find a large room for an ender eye to be used. When you throw it, record the angle with F3. Go 100-200 blocks roughly perpendicular to the ender eye direction (do NOT follow it). Find/make a big cavern again. Throw the eye again. Record angle with F3 again. Congratulations. You now have a stereoscopic triangulation of the stronghold location, accurate to less than the size of the stronghold itself as long as it's within a few kilometers. If you have, say, 2.6 degrees of separation at 100 blocks apart at a 45 degree angle, you know the stronghold sees 71 meters as a 2.6-degree wide object, and the stronghold is therefore 1560 blocks away, about 1100 on each axis. Thus, you can know not only the direction but the position of the stronghold within a fairly high accuracy. I have used this technique to dig directly into a stronghold starting from 8000 blocks away. Better yet, you can use the Nether, although I suppose you risk the exit portal being above Y=61.

The clear answer is yes, it is relatively simple albeit time consuming. The real question is why use an number value as the world can generate things in abnormal ways which can completely defeat the point of the challenge? It would be better to define it as the top block, and in turn wouldn't mining things above the forbidden block count as you reaching and technically breaking said rule (Not that searching for a mineshaft would be fun.) Similarly allowing the player to access the surface doesn't make this a challenge as nothing changes other then digging everywhere... which is actually safer then normal.

I did this challenge with my friends and my brother on mobile, v1.12 on a LAN world. Every time we hang out we put some time in that world and the four of us made a starting base, we mined , farmed and then we upgraded our tools. 1 week later another friend joined the world and he had 1 day above ground before going underground, he made us beds and gave us a few saplings and meat. Together we expanded the base a lot, we made a chicken farm with only 1 egg throw, a wheat farm , cactus farm, sugarcnane and pumpkin farm. By that point it was July 17 and our friends and my family went on vacation. On our vacation I had my phone and I went to the nether, got us many stacks of iron and some diamonds. Our vacation only lasted for a week or so but their vacation lasted for a month, idk why. Me and my brother invited some other friends to join this LAN world and their objective was to get us (1): pigs (2) : more types of wood (3): more plants (4): cows. They brought all of those things needed and we created more rooms for them to be. At that point we were 8 people at that world and we started to run out of resources so we went to the mines again... It was Agaust 16 and our other friends returned from vacation and they saw all the progress they didn't see while they were gone. Only thing left to do is defeat the Ender Dragon and beat the game. In our world we had more strict rules and hunting for ender men was really hard. I decided that we would get enderpearls by trading but it was hard to find zombie villagers to cure. Luckily I had a few z.v. locked in a ravine and I cured them and got a priest villager for ender pearls. For emeralds we could not find a farmer to trade all our wheat with so I cured another villager that gave emeralds for paper and made a HUGE sugarcane farm. We got all the pearls and then we prepared for battle. We made 2 xp grinders 1 skeleton and one spider and enchanted our gear. One day I went above ground for the first time since July and used my pearls to find the stronghold. The portal was sooo far away that I made many docks and forteesses with Lighthouses indicating us were to go. Then we decided who was gonna kill the dragon since we were 8 people irl playing in a 5 player limit world. We decided that the original four should fight the dragon and we jumped in. We mined up to the surface and destroyed the towers, then we just spammed our arrows on our terrible aim phones but we killed him. We got the egg and made a cool history museum of this world in the place of the first room we created. We are now getting a little bored of this world so we decorated our base a little and then quit playing on it. All of this happened this summer and I still have this world in my phone. We are making a second world this Christmas and we are so hyped. I might make a base tour on my channel idk send me your thoughts!! Edit: sorry for bad english
@Jeity_5 жыл бұрын
I think that cutting surface trees, even while staying below y=60, kinda kills the purpose of surviving underground. I mean, it is virtually the same as getting wood and saplings just before going underground. I would modify the requirement to staying below y=58, this way you won't be able to break down the blocks at level y=64, which is the surface (because you are limited to a 5 block radius).

Go to the nether and grind for blaze rods. Find end portal and sigh in relief that the pain is over

I say you should only cut down one tree before going underground, from there plant a sapling underground and only use those trees from then on. live off apples and mushrooms. Collecting resources directly from the surface is pretty much living on it.

Your video has a weird atmosphere that brings me back to the early days of Minecraft when Coestar was the biggest minecrafter around. I think some of it is how your underground "builds" are so simple and limited by blocks and that the Minecraft music plays fairly loudly on your videos. I liked it.

If I were to do this challenge (and I am very tempted to), I would state that there are three rules: - Immediately upon spawning, you must dig down three blocks, and place a block above your head, enclosing you underground. - You are allowed to create openings to the world above, but only so long as you are physically unable to pass through them, even if given the ability to fly. Any openings created that can be passed though must be closed immediately. - If you happen upon a cave system or mine shaft with a natural opening to the world above, it can be left as is, but you may not exit from it. The limit is you cannot be directly underneath the skybox. Even inching out just far enough to extend the cave ceiling outward exposes you to the skybox, and is thus not allowed. I know it is a lot more convoluted and difficult to keep track of, but I feel it is a lot more in keeping with the spirit of staying underground like a proper mole person, leaving fewer opportunities for moments that can be described as "well it's not _technically_ against the rules", like the trenches and wood and seed collecting bit at the start of the video.

Couldn't you have used triangulation to calculate the coords of the stronghold, and then move to its via the nether? To me it seems as though it would save a lot of time. A valiant effort nevertheless.

Reminds me of the time I built an entire underground city that I called Vandery in Minecraft (which was a second version of an underground city I built in Minetest). A vast network of homes and farms and even businesses stretching for miles. It had a few well-concealed entrances/exits to the overworld and the paths to Vandery were twisting, winding, and treacherous. Vandery will live again, whenever I feel like hosting a server again lol.

There was an entire trend known as the "404 challenge" because it used the seed "404" which had a cave that covered half of the world directly below spawn.
@loadingname54995 жыл бұрын
@@emc246 not that. It was made by a greek yt called AndreofHazel i think. He made as a challenge and started with a random seed and cut down only one try and the sapplings that the leaves hat and immediately went into the nearest cave
@randomnessincarnate18434 жыл бұрын
I used to try a challenge almost like this a long time ago. You make a super flat world, then modify it to have a layer of lava with 10-20 blocks of air of space depending on how much time you want to give yourself. You get a brief window to get a sapling, a seed or two, and rush underground
