In early token reinsertion, I think THT should be THT = N*Tt Because N packets are passed by each station in a cycle. Kindly clarify

token holding time is independent of no of packets. it just gives the time taken by each station while holding the token. its already multiplied by N so it also considers the THT for all stations

cycle time has Tp+ token holding time in it along with transmission time. But latency is simply Tp + THT

Cycle time is time taken for token to go around the ring and come back. Ring latency is time taken for a bit to go around the ring and come back. Cycle time should be far higher as each station would have packets go around and come back.

ring latency is the time taken by one bit and cycle time is the time taken by token (token is also a special packet) to complete one revolution in the ring

Your Cycle Time is (n*THT + Tp) while useful time is n*Tt. Why this useful time isn't added to Cycle time. Or is it like that? packets transfer and token transfer are independent from each other and can be done parallely?

+rachit saxena The THT for one station consists of (The time spent by token in buffer)+(Transmission time i.e. Tt ).. So in THT we are covering the useful time.. Thats why it isn't added explicitly.. :)
