A good day following the CN L539 from L'Anse to Herman. The day before I had been to Marquette but caught more freighters than trains but I will post that next!

This channel made me a fan of CN. They sure saved a lot of trackage in the U.S.

Well, we got about a foot of super dense snow here in Rhinelander starting yesterday a.m. and we're still getting lake effect squalls this afternoon (wednesday). A total of 3 1/2 hrs. of snowblowing to clean it all up. I know I'm whining but I earned it. Always love the walk through the woods to go with the trains. Great video as always, enjoyed it much. Thanks Nancy!

@nancyhaun actually where I live the old Henry Ford Railroad goes through this area, Detroit Toledo and Ironton, Grand Trunk, Indiana Ohio. I think it's under the Genesee Railroad now. But the trains say IO on the sides.

Hi Nancy, I like this kind of "cooler" weather, it keeps the little Black flies away. Last year we had a drought for 3mos early on and it really cut off the mosquitoes. But once it started to rain again they came back with a vengeance and stayed clear until November. So I am happy as a pig in mud with this cooler weather. I hope you are too. Just wondering, is the squealing we hear bearings or brakes? I'm asking about that continuous squealing sound coming from every few cars. Thanks for sharing. ben./ down below da bridge eh

That would be flanges rubbing against the rail head
