I applaud these parents who were willing to examine themselves and make some changes to help their children. Particularly in the Asian community, this is very much a topic that's usually not talked out.

i like the father to make the effort taking course, take the initiative to apologize, lower the ego. love the thinking that he knows no external factor like medicine or therapist is the solution since the root cause is him, he makes the effort to resolve. he truly loves his daughter

No matter what age you are or what role you play, it takes courage and humility to recognise that you aren't always right, that you could do better as the person that you are. Mental health isn't just draining on the patients, it's also stress that presses down on their loved ones. But there is never a valid excuse to redirect one's stress and emotion onto the people around you. With a little more compassion, understanding and open-mindedness, we can find ways to build bridges and beacons across the void that is depression.

I thank CNA for making this video. Honestly, more people need to see this. I am a person who went through Anxiety and Depression alone with little support from friends or family. I am just one of the lucky ones. As I am strong enough to endure my suicidal madness and other issues. I really do wish my family realized the things I went through and noticed the signs. It's true that depression is not obvious and victims of it will hide their pain through smiles and laughter. I really hope after people watch this video more children will be saved.

No matter how many men or women u slept with, u still want more. No matter how blessed u are, u still want more blessings. There's only 1 thing that can satisfy 😌 your soul. That means there's a way to go to heaven after you die & be saved from going to hell 🔥. You need to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior for your sins. No sinners can save himself. Many parents don t accept the fact of their sons can suffer from depression and act roughly against them saying that these disease is a lazy behaviour, cause survival is more important. My sister commited suicide in 2012 after two failed marriages and suffered depression in the second marriage due to domestic violence. Now, it s my time to retire from these unfair world after suffering from depression and try to survive for being bullied by my own mom for not building a family and don t have competence to do it and evolve financially and professionally with 47 years old. I m just counting down for my D-DAY.

This video brought tears to my eyes. Is there any chance this video can have Chinese captions? I would like to share it with my parents who doesn't like to talk heart to heart with me, who always shut me down whenever I express my views. I'm a single child and does not have anyone close to talk to. Thanks

I know it's hard to let go. but you can't force someone to change. You will be more miserable when you don't see the outcome. Learn self-love and self-care. if possible, leave that environment so you don't face it day in day out
@mindclarity2 жыл бұрын
@@shiokinvest4663 I wish it was easy for me to just say fk it and leave the environment, but I can't. I'm the retirement plan for my parents and my dad is a lottery addict. It gives me immense pressure when he gambles whatever he earns and whatever I give him. He does not like it when I ask him to save the money. I find it difficult to talk some sense into him, so I thought at least he could watch this video in Chinese and understand what other parents are doing and what he's failing at.
@shiokinvest46632 жыл бұрын
I know it's hard. And every Chinese parents treat us like we are their retirement plan. But we don't own them the lifestyle they want. I believe as long as you provide for their basic needs would be good. Just like they provided for your basic needs when you were young. And save some for raining days just in case would be fine. You can only change your mindset to be happy.

For parents - sometimes our child/children just wants us to listen to them vent. They don't need us to fix anything. Ask them "Do you want me to listen or do you want me to give you some advice?" When they want to vent, anything you say will be considered as 'excuses' and not validate their feelings at the moment. It will only make the things worst. This is coming from a mom of a transgender son who is diagnosed with bipolar.

Great video - it raises awareness. On a separate note, if its ok to ask here - just out of my curiosity - the mandarin speaking lady, is her accent the standard accent in Sg or is it more like taiwan influenced accent? As for the father, is his English not really sg accent (more like "modified" English accent)? Ive been to Sg, and lived there for some time, hence I feel a bit curious when i listened to them talking :)
