Haha but tbh the "taste test" isn't rigorous enough! This is because the judges' perception could be skewed based on their individual preferences for different flavours (e.g. laksa, sesame). To make it more equal and fair, the only variable that should be changed is the type of noodles, while keeping the type of seasoning the same.

Don't always trust the claims they put on the packaging guys! It will be best to be looking at the nutritional labels to discern for yourself which is healthier. Btw, something I have learned is sometimes it is not about what we take out from the instant noodles (cus honestly when I am very hungry at night after a long day, the last thing I want is to make my own spice blend for my instant noodles) but what we can add to it. Proteins like egg or frozen cooked chicken breast (can buy online), and vegetables like frozen peas or fresh/frozen leafy greens. It makes the meal a little more nutritionally dense than normal. But then again, it is still instant noodles sooo have to eat in moderation :)

Saying that after just 4 seconds of this video passed, just responding to the suggestion on the side panel of KZbin. Cheers!

Just a note: taking fat from food you decrease its satiating effect, i.e. you will be hungry sooner and keep snacking between meals, which pretty much sabotages your energy intake control. Low fat can be a yogurt as a snack after the main satisfying meal, but as a main meal it isn't the right move to push the fat content to the minuscule amounts. Fat also carries flavour and comes with a range of fat soluble vitamins.

I've been making my own spice mix for ramen noodles cooked with my own frozen vegetables for a while, because I rarely find vegan flavors for sale. For years, I substituted the non-vegan flavor packet with a store-bought vegan "chicken soup" bouillon powder--but recently I decided to try mixing my own spices to reduce the sodium and eliminate additives. I lean toward either "chicken soup" flavor with miso paste, or "sesame soy" flavor. I then add a pinch or two of various seasonings from my pantry. I've even put them all on one shelf so I can grab them easily! I've found that mushroom (fresh, dried, or powdered) is critical to reducing the need for salt. And if the dish still isn't salty enough when cooked, I add a splash of soy sauce or a sprinkling of seaweed flakes. Yes, those ingredients are salty, but they are also high in umami, which reduces the need for even MORE salt.

Any packaged food labeled as low fat likely is less healthy because they will balanced flavor lost from fat with lots and lots of sugar which is significantly worse than fat.
