CIK AZMAN ferried us 6 people in his van back in the early 2000s to the NPCC campsite when it was raining and he told us, just pay whatever we can as we are all students, so we collect whatever money we have and pass it to him, then he gave us half back to tell us. just pray for my health and happiness. Lovely Legendary man!!

I dunno why u guys make such a big fuss about this,do u know what its like to have a complete monopoly on a island?this man is god.down there he makes the rules.down there he is the mfing shot caller, big stepper, underground methods, product of many errors. Every taxi ride has to go through him, prices he set, theres no one there to tell him what he can or cannot do, surely not comfort delgro cause they cant even be bothered to be there.he is the dark wanderer, either u accept the price or u go ur way. He who has the taxi, makes the rules. Imagine how big he could be if he was more entrepreneurial and more PAP profit above people....uber eats, amazon same day delivery.

I still remember Wak Azman from my NS days in Pulau Ubin back in 2018. He help me when I arrived late to the NPCC campsite on a rainy day with no money for a taxi. Wak Azman selflessly offered to taxi me to the campsite without asking for payment. His kindness has stayed with me, and I miss him a lot. Similarly, I fondly remember Wak Othman, who was always at the NPCC campsite. The FI boys should know about these amazing individuals. I miss them both dearly.

I wonder how is Wak Othman. Havent seen him for more than 16 - 17 years already. Cik Azman also tompang our group to the NPCC campsite when I was still a CI and we gave him money, he took only half and ask us to pray for him instead.

Perhaps an encouragement for overseas tourists & tour groups to visit Pulau Ubin would help. A win-win, hopefully a bigger influx of visitors as well as a fresh, more holistic approach for the visitors rather than simply the concrete jungle in the mainland. Thank you to Uncle Hamid Azman. If not, there will be lesser and lesser people who knows about Pulau Ubin. Singapore's history should be kept. Now that most of Singapore Mainland has been urbanised with so many high rise buildings, much of our history is lost to civilisation. Except for some preserved buildings.

Harap2 kerajaan Singapura akan perbanyakkan promosi Pulau Jubin. Maaf nak cakap ye tapi orang Singapura selalu promosi negara diorang dengan "multicutural country" tapi apa yang mereka pamerkan hanyalah makanan dan orang2 nya sahaja. Kampung2 Melayu, Budaya2 Melayu Cina India x nampak sangat.

I remember visiting Pulau Ubin back in the late 1990s and the quarry was still open to swim. We would take the bumboat to the island, rent a bicycle and cycle around the island followed by a quick dip in the quarry (it was not fenced up back then). I fondly remember the drink stalls dotted around the island where you could quench your thirst with ice cold soda or bottled water. After a wonderful afternoon we would then hit up one (and only?) seafood restaurant and have a pretty good meal before taking the bumboat back to the mainland. Those were good times and makes me think of visiting Pulau Ubin once more.

the last thing pulau ubin needs is to be turned into another sentosa. commercializing these places is a disaster. what do you think happened to all the other orang pulau communities in singapore when the government took over their places? safe to say most singaporeans are hardly even aware these communities even exist when they are the true indigenous people of singapore
