The Singapore Prison Service should look into and address the issues faced by inmates who have to travel by public transport. A time study with additional time allocated for delays during meals, walking, transportation duration, etc. should be given. We should give them more if they show that they are putting in effort to reintegrate with the society. They should not be disheartened or discouraged to go to work.
@thestaringenclave2 жыл бұрын
I believe the time given must have been studied properly already but perhaps can be updated every now and then to see if it's still reasonable. But also not forgetting, it's meant to be tight because they don't want the supervisee gallivanting outside, giving allowance for delays etc could easily be abused especially when it's so difficult to prove. Afterall, they are not exactly completely out of their prison regiment yet.

Good job again team CNA. I enjoyed the previous series. After watching this episode, I realised that these featured guys had mostly dealt w drugs. I read tt those w drugs experiences, tend to fall back to it. Not wishing any of these guys to be tempted again. Just a realisation tt it might not exactly be them who want to offend again. But perhaps the drugs previously taken had an invisible bondage. Just a thought. Not excusing their offences, but trying to understand the repeated offences. Wishing them all success in leading fulfilling drug free lives once out of prison. Curious too why the production team had chosen to focus on drug offenders. It will be interesting to find out more about 'well educated' offenders (i.e. those who w high profiles and yet committed crimes). How are these people taught to conform to the law then (esp when they are already so 'well educated')? I guess it shows how humans truly are... tt regardless of our education background, we all may still falter. God help us.

Darkness is waiting to grab you again. They will always be there. Let Light into your mind to illumine you with wisdom. So that you have the strength to overcome all temptations. Pray for Light every single day without fail. Darkness is still inside your mind right now. Whatever your religion, Light and darkness will always exist in this world. The stronger ones will listen to Light, while the weaker ones will fall into darkness. Light will give your the strength you need, PROVIDED you ASK for it. It will not come uninvited to your house. The world is like a battlefield between Light and darkness. I see this being played out every single day in all human beings. “Light is the most needed in the world, but it is the least wanted."-enlightened master Sri Chinmoy

Can see the dangerous trends forming again. 1) Cannot stay in the job they were given. They would complain about the pay not enough etc. but in the cases shown here, Grayson took mc to go out and hang out with friends. Boon Keng went back to his old job of doing delivery. 2) when caught for infractions, grayson has a lot of excuses. Although I am also rooting for them, but can see some worrying trend forming.
@ewong14322 жыл бұрын
I find boon keng's reason more valid, he needs to pay maintenance fee to his ex-wife, the salary of a hotel receptionist is honestly too low. He said he plans to work more hours as a food delivery rider in order to earn more. Assuming he is telling the truth, that actually sounds like a better plan. As for graceson, he's being dishonest even before the release. Took MC but went to meet friends, if I were his future employer, I would question his attitude at work. He keeps complaining about people discriminating ex-offenders, but his actions couldn't convince people to trust him.

Graceson also somehow thinks he got treated unfairly when he chao keng MC and didn’t follow SOP. Like bruh you are still technically serving your sentence they are giving you a privilege to work outside first and enjoy some freedom earlier. He seems to have this victim mindset where he keeps blaming everything else other than taking responsibility for himself. Also keeps thinking people look down on him, that he has to ‘see other people attitude’. It’s also not a good sign that he chao keng from his job to hang out with friends who take drugs.

hello! just curious, would it be a good idea to show this series to the inmates in prison as well? to motivate them in someway to avoid coming back into prison? also, i think some inmates might prefer this over the movies they are currently able to watch since the movies are kinda backdated right? just a suggestion from me :>
@mikefooyc82372 жыл бұрын
I think security wise it's a huge issue. They may be able to memorize the entire layout, exits and radio call protocols

Not advisable cos they can know about the layout and may stage a prison break

@Boba Fett I watched the entire series. Max to beyond. One thing they never showed is the prison layout. Even the shots with natural light coming in. You'll never see the angle of the sun. So you won't know which block faces which side. Not sure how the CU works though. Seems like they are still limited to their own blocks and stuff gets delivered to them for distribution.

Its still a good point tho, can just request them to share their story without visually showing the layouts and stuff. Exactly if its coming from former inmates more motivating

Prison is tough, being out after prison isn't a bed of roses too. Many are still paying the price after being released. Stigma will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Hope they take it a step at a time, not to feel frustrated and not to take for granted the second chance they are given. It is easy to reoffend, but there are lots of people rooting for them.

I find that Graceson has an actor look. Jack Neo or others can consider hiring him as actor in their movies if there are suitable roles. Boon Keng also has potential too especially with roles about being an insider etc, because of his happy go lucky look and people will not suspect much.

Graceson has anger issues, lack self-discipline.. i believe he did change for the better in those years in prison.. he still need to have a better hold on himself. His anger and self discipline may cost him his family His wife has mentioned in the 1st series that he needs to do better else she will divorce him. I really hope he can focus more on his family.. to reflect on his own issues.. and if he persists.. it will cost him those things and pple he loves most 😐

I believe in front Infront of camera, filtration sure have one, a bit of wayang cannot run away one. Hope the reality is not diff much as it's shown. Good job to CNA for having this contents. Hope to have more real life stories to share. Its really remind those people outside of prison to enjoy freedom and appreciate life.

As much as I want graceson to never enter prison.. I sincerely hope he learn from his deeds.. Chao Keng to get mc I feel it's ok, but at least have the basic courtesy to report ur status , not just go MIA.. no business will hire a person with such character.. it's okay to Keng.. everyone does it.. but be tactical about it lah.. I also have kids sick.. I also Keng mc.. but I still report my status to my bosses and let them know my whereabouts.. Graceson jiayou bro.. I'm rooting for u.. I honestly hope u will never go into prison but ur anger management need to adjust Abit lah..

It would be interesting if they can, cause I know an inmate who was in jail for selling guns, he went to jail for 2 years, and he said he won't be selling guns. but then got caught selling fake merchandise and went to jail for 8 years, and he said he won't be selling fakes anymore, but guess what? he went to jail again for 3 mths, for creating an illegal gambling ring in his house. I haven't met him again but I doubt he has changed.

I wish that UK prisoners had similiar schemes. We need things like this. Maybe with bunks rather than sleeping on the floor! I really like the psychological approach to helping candidates understand past mistakes and how not to repeat them, developing useful skills.

Actually, can we do one on like Hikkikomoris, or rather, in a broader aspect, social outcasts similar to a hikkikomori? Like social outcasts who probably look normal and maybe even have a job, but has just gradually moved away from the general society due to societal pressure?
