They still said it in the video, it's about the ecosystem that keeps people in the company! People don't always care about new amazing features, they are happy Apple brings new stuff to their phones whether is exist already or not! If someone has a Macbook, Apple Watch and a Iphone, which are all connected between eachother, they rather stay with Apple then go with another company! Whether you like Apple or not, that's the truth. Apple has built a strong and reliable ecosystem for every day users! As well, the video isn't trashing Apple as a company, it's explaining its position in the game! A lot of people in the comment section are misunderstanding the point here!

When the first iphone came out they were ahead of the competition by 10 years but now they caught up. Apple is playing the chasing game. Samsung and other Companies are gambling money on new ideas and the ones that are successful you bet your ass you will see it on Apple products 1 to 2 years later.

@WeeStrom CO Guy Spot on right to repair. People want to stay in the ecosystem, but don't want to buy a new phone that's pretty much the same to them as the old one. Customers should outraged at Apple's attack on 3rd party repair, and their own genius bars that try to drive up the repair cost in order to get you to buy a new phone. Also, if they don't fix your phone right there, then they actually ship it to a 3rd party repair company that gave them the cheapest bid for the contract (see Reddit threads on the kind of crap that happens in these 3rd party companies).

@WeeStrom CO Guy Yea, Louis Rossman has some great insights, and there was a CBC special on it too. My mom owns an iPhone, and I have work-issued Macbook. They work fine and have their pros/cons, but it's hard to justify the price for me to buy one myself. Samsung's pricing is getting hard for me to justify too. If the features are the same, then why pay more, right?

Same materials as the iPhone XR internally and cheaper materials than any of the previous models. So far I’ve seen two common issues with iPhone 11/11 pro/ Pro Max so far and both are internal motherboard issues. Front/rear cameras not working with no Face ID and “searching no service” baseband issues. Im 100% sure these two issues will become very common repairs for these models. They are two very hard repairs to do also. iPhone 6 had “searching no service” iPhone 6 Plus “no touch” iPhone 7/7 plus “no audio” searching no service issues” iPhone X had too many issues iPhone 11/11 pro/Max “searching for service” and no front/rear camera/no Face ID... so far

Before the ipad, Microsoft tablets existed. Before iPhones, phones with touch functionality existed. I won’t give credit where it is not due. I don’t have a single Samsung product, but I have an iPhone and and an iPad, but Samsung has been much more innovative than Apple has ever been. Did it really though? The first iPhone in 2007 was a true innovation. 2008 they re-released the same phone with 3G and in 2019 they brought the 3GS, which was mainly a speeded up 3G. 2010 brought the first true innovation in three years in form of iPhone 4. So about every third year or so they bring truly new products, which is what they have kept doing ever since. iPhone 6 released in 2014 and iPhone X in 2017 were bigger innovations, but you can't expect those every year.

Innovation is different from invention!!!! You can’t have Big Innovation every year!!! Apple’s concentrate more on implementation and user experience. There are so many feature on androids that is just gimmicky lack of reliability. Androids wanted to get ahead of Apple but failed to do better. iPhone Hardware and Software to this date are far more advance than those in android, iPhone can be use for 5 solid years fast and up to date. Face Id is a very good example of Apple’s innovation when most android make facial recognition gimmicky without Apple’s superior components that truly take 3d depth mapping android devices can be fooled by just a picture. While android raising to get ahead of apple packing too much feature like super slowmo, air gesture and 5g that are not ready yet and no practical use. I mean super slowlo are effing too boring to watch taking the fun out of it. Too much of everything is not better. User Experience is the Most Important essence in technology to go further.

@@cjgx88891) face id on Android is not a security feature, it's a convenience feature - there's a difference. Android phone manufacturers have never focused on face id mimicking, instead they are trying to go bezel-less, which is hard to do with face id components, that's why Android has in-screen finger print scanners, some having 3d mapping to make much harder to fool, and why Android phones look more futuristic than Apple phones. If you want an example of an Android phone that does face id right, Hawaii pro 20 did it securely like apple. 2) Android phones released over the past 4 years can and have last 4+ years, with fast performance from a user stand point. Just that they don't get updated after 2-3 years due to the individual manufacturers being lazy. That will be fixed with Android 10(from a security patching aspect, which is what is most important about keeping a device long term).

Sounds like Apple gets that smartphones have reached maturity, meaning that there's nothing amazing in the pipeline for anyone. Like it or not smartphones 20 years from now will probably largely similar to those we had in 2013, just like our passenger jets are largely similar to the ones we had 50 years ago. There's no need to flail around looking for the next big smartphone feature because there isn't one, so why make gimmicky folding phones that don't even work well? Companies just have to accept that it's slowing down and becoming less exciting. The same thing happened to computers in the 2000s and Apple didn't sweat it, they just moved to the next new exciting thing. More exciting things will come, but they won't be smartphones. Could be self-driving cars, could be anything.
