Good work but a fiew question none movie does not explain how to improve the tight thread without losing the whole day on the repetition of the whole cycle of the program? long screws supported by a knife and tailstock for CNC probably do not exist? work tools on several successively forming part of the process of processing the thread with long screws on manual machines is the norm thread 90deg (flat) 3 tools (grove, left side ,right side) for deep trapezoidal threads min 2 tools(growe,final profil) is there a way to set a number of tools so that they can work as a team next opetion in proces threading? how do trapezoidal thread flat, asymmetrical, multi pass snails

Great explanation and videos! How would you thread the following: threads on both sides of the part separated by a larger specified OD. I know you would use a LH thread tool and run the spindle CW but how would you program it in 1 setup?
@jarisipilainen38755 жыл бұрын
its just same as you see but start point and end point is different. M3 and M4 depending what tool use and if want do right handed or left handed thread. you can do RH tool right handed and left handed thread just switch where start and where end even it wont cut properly :) if you normally run RH tool with M3 from like you see this video. you get right handed thread.if you want right handed thread behind bigger OD you need second RH tool and attack it machine other way and run it from back side using M4 you get right handed thread. you can use same toom in same orientation if it fit to run it. you only need cut groove where it start thread so it not plunge in part :P there is also thread inserts for grooving tools. so it would fit better behind OD just make relief both ends.

@TomStikkelman8 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee. Yes, instead of starting your tool at the major diameter of your thread and stepping down in a X-minus direction you would start your thread at the minor diameter of your thread and stepping up in a X-plus direction. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

@TomStikkelman9 жыл бұрын
+Chris Perkins I will do a video on that soon. Thanks for watching.
@dougsanders60344 жыл бұрын
The only thing you will have to do different is make sure your x value in the lines before your G76 line is smaller than your drilled or bore size. I usually go .100 smaller depending on the depth of your thread. It has to have retract clearance or it can rake back across the threads when it comes out of the bore each pass. Hope this helps!

What control is this for, FANUC? we have a Doosan at work and it uses a 2 line G76, it has a FANUC i-series control, is this the proper code for that machine. I have been skeptical about writing a thread cycle longhand on that machine but have used mastercam on it before. i am comfortable programming threads on Haas, but they use a 1 line G76 and the values are much different.
@TomStikkelman8 жыл бұрын
+Sandman Actual Yes it is for a Fanuc and should work on your Doosan. Have you tried this format in your Doosan lathe? You can just dry run it and see if it will run. Thanks for watching Sandman. Tom

Tom Stikkelman Well, I've seen the code that Mastercam posts and it produced a 2-line G76, Comming from mostly HAAS lathes I just wasn't sure what all of the values meant, especially the pxxxxxx. Your video did an excellent job breaking it down, Thanks.
@tomhoodjr6 жыл бұрын
Depends on the FANUC.. there are three types... G78 does the same thing in the 21TB (type 3, GE series) I've programmed. www.helmancnc.com/fanuc-g-codes-list/

Hi Tom, using this at my job too. Doosan 220 series. Fanuc Control. Why does the controller not accept the decimal on R? We are machining Radius ( R 0009) holding .0004 tolerance. Pitch. Need to adjust the R in the program as no offset for R.

I thing samthing rong. see. haf inch dia metar =12.7-.4405=12.2595 ok then 12.2595÷2=6.12975 ok but you put there p297 why im not andastand can you tell me what is resan that.
@patientestant7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure where you are getting the 12.7. The outer diameter is .5 inch subtract the minor diameter and divide by 2. Written out in arithmetic it is (.5-.4405) ÷ 2 = .02975 inch
