You shouldn't have to touch off on x with live tooling. It should have an automatic offset like − 14.201

When finishing the .005" final pass you'll probably use a G70 P100 Q102 line directly after this. And that means the G1 line in the G72 cycle needs to have your finish feed rate stated. Without that feed an alarm will happen.

Hi Tom my name is Hannes. I have been following your videos on macro b programming. We are incorporating the probe on a VTL lathe but I am having issues using the while loop on machining inside and outside diameters. Please could you share some InSite into how the while do will work on diameters when machining a profile that consists of chamfers and two or three different diameters. I will really appreciate the help. I have done a CNC program that uses a canned cycle to rough the profile to 5 mm from size. I want to use the while do statement to machine off the balance of the material before the probe goes and measures the dimension again. Once measured I will make an offset and rerun the same final profile cycle to recut the diameter in question. Thank you in advance

Thank you Tom for taking the time to create such thorough tutorial videos of Mastercam... your efforts are simply exceptional. I have been programming for 25 years in G-code but for reasons I won't go into here, I find myself behind the times with this approach to metal working. I have been attempting to learn Mastercam on my own (while working 50 hrs/week) over the last 18 months or so through KZbin videos & other resources (Titans of CNC comes to mind). I just stumbled across your channel recently & I must say you have a real talent for education. It looks like the majority of your videos deal with the older versions (x7/x5) of Mastercam (which is understandable since they go back a decade) & while still very relevant, it does generally make it somewhat challenging to translate this over to Mastercam 2019 & beyond. Your last tutorial was 3 years ago & while I understand if you've moved on from a professorial role, it is my sincere hope that you, at some point, stand behind that podium once again. Your tutorials are the best I have seen on the web...intuitive, through & very well organized. Thanks again for such an outstanding body of work!

Love your method of explaining and utilizing the x-y coordinate system. Other videos I've watched never mentioned. Makes perfect sense to me now that I can pull from my college trig classes.

Mr Stikkelman, keep up the great work...I am thoroughly enjoying your tutorials. I am very new to this so I have a question. Can this be used along with the circle milling variable? Do they have to be integrated or do they run inline? and if so, which goes first? Thanks!

you made this harder than it needed. you could have just duplicated your main origin on the same geometry on the same location.
