Good video Yes on the clamp. Would you like to see an oops moment when I fat fingered the settings for a HOG? Chewed through a 1" chunk of walnut in 55 seconds flat on a NW SD-100.

Those clamps look like they hold tight to the fence, also hold downward pressure to the spoil board. Used to use something similar on the BridgePorts, and they worked very well. Cool, I like it!

Hi Garrett. I was able to get your new bit and have a project on mind to try it out. I will let you know very soon. As for you clamp I am definitely interested. If there is one area in my CNC setup it is the areas of clamping. It takes me much longer than I feel it should to hold down a piece of wood on my mill. What I just saw you demo is amazing. Funny but being a mechanical engineer I had been thinking about looking into a different clamping system than I currently use. Your idea is awesome and I would definitely be interested in your clamp. Thanks again for all you do for this community. I know you have helped me a great deal. Also I am waiting for your new “beast” to be released. I love the hog but the beast would definitely speed up my bowl making.

Yes on the clamps, but I'm still loving the wood ones from your file. I'm so glad I got the 3/16" compression bit while you still had it in stock, I knew they'd be gone quick. I'm happy to be one of many to help wipe you out of them lol.😁 Have a great weekend with the family, dude. 👼❤️

He supplies quality bits. I have several including the new 3/16 compression bit :) Never had any issue at all with the quality.... the 1/4 compression will even cut through screws LOL I do not recommend it though! He always ships with a personal message to you as well as a little suprise inside..... Garrett, we need to talk about my diabetes LOL

I really like those clamps you created. I have some low profile clamps, but I never liked bolts sticking up above surface of the wood. I am curious if the bottom of your clamp has multiple holes to adjust the pegs to different spoil board hole spacing. I don’t want to have to re-drill my spoil board - Of course price will also be a big factor.
@IDCWoodcraft
@IDCWoodcraft Жыл бұрын
Roger, very true. You want them to be as low profile as possible.

Is there .25 shank end mill bit that can cut 1.5 depth with a smooth finish? I seem to be having trouble getting a smooth cut using my current bits on the end grain portions of my projects.
@IDCWoodcraft
@IDCWoodcraft Жыл бұрын
Gary, this downcut should give you a really good finish. Here is a link: idcwoodcraft.com/products/long-1-4-router-bit-for-cnc-trim-routers-1-4-shank You might also need to run a finish pass to get a good clean cut!

On the topic of the chair components and how you said it wouldn't work on the machine with the shorter (I'm assuming) Y axis, I have seen a video on here that was done by Jonathan Katz Moses where they use a pinning technique to be able to process basically an infinite length on the Y axis. I'm not sure if you would be interested in doing a video on that in your own style as JKMs was run through pretty quickly but just thought I would mention it to you.
@IDCWoodcraft
@IDCWoodcraft Жыл бұрын
Yes, that is a method called tiling. I've considered the chair using that method for smaller platforms but honestly, the chair design has taken a lot of time. I probably won't do the chair in another video. Perhaps some other project
@reece674
@reece674 Жыл бұрын
@@IDCWoodcraft that's a fair point, that chair does look quite in-depth and an awesome design.
