I am really worried about the american schoolsystem. The pupils are ignorant about geography and world history. The western world USA, Europe, Australia and the democracies of the world must coordinate and align so all free citizens are on the same page and well informed against the propaganda coming from totalitarian countries towards the lands of the free and the lands of the brave.

One time my son and I were sitting at a food court chatting. A white man sitting at the next table said to me, "You are in Canada so SPEAK ENGLISH!" I said to him loudly, "I speak 4 languages and which one I choose to talk to my son is my own choice and it's none of your business!" Everyone was looking at him. He felt so embarrassed and left. I'm from South Korea. having lived in America for nearly 2 years, based on my experience, insensible racism has always been there through out my life in American high school. We don't speak up, because we know that we are a little different looking than you, our culture has been through hundreds of years within our own social boundaries, we don't speak up for ourselves necessarily unless it is something we can't just sit around and let go of it. I had an ACT test at the school I went to in Colorado back in 2015, two girls (not gonna specify their race) came up to me and started asking where I am from and they headed straight into asking why my eyes are so small. They started laughing and my mind was boiling, but couldn't just swear on their faces, (if I did that, then I could be seem as a minority to others there sitting around - alleviating all racism down to just a mild abuse ). I had so many good American friends that would not see me as the way I looked, they protected me in a way that they wouldn't think of me as one of those minorities. One time in 2016 I was walking down Boston area, there was a group of people smoking on the stairs at their apartment, Me and my Chinese friends were intimidated by this, calling us chingchong the moment we passed by. I sensed racism throughout the couple of years, and the racism has always been there for over several decades in America. It has just been increased in number in recent couple years.

@Universe Soul why do you have to make it a competition? My mom was attacked by men in the 90s who called her "chink" and a bunch of other racial slurs. I was followed by a woman who kept telling me to "go home you damn Asian", I wasn’t scared cause I was in the military and knew if she tried anything I could definitely take her. When I was a child I had many racist classmates who would hurl slurs but I had a mouth on me so I didn’t just sit back and I got in a bit of trouble for defending myself and friends. And what do you mean by more-so and for a longer time? Asian hate dates back just as far as anything else. Spain went and colonized the Philippines in the 1500s and committed disgusting acts of violence against them, especially the women.

I’m a third Chinese and I fully embrace that side of my family, more so then my white side, which would make more sense since I’m more white passing. I remember mentioning this in my writing class to my friends during 8th grade that I was actually a third Chinese, and I wasn’t ashamed of it. However, other kids hated me in school, so they wanted to use anything against me to make me feel bad. So these two younger boys (there were 6th and 7th grades in the class as well cause it’s an elective) came up to me at my table and just kept saying “ching chung” and “so you eat cats/dogs?” Over and over again. At first, I didn’t even know it was racial slurs, just in general racist. Like the difference between the n word and saying blacks are always thieves, a slur vs a stereotype. I thought those were just stereotypes cause again I’m very white passing so I never really get those things very often. So I guess I wasn’t as offended as I could be, just ticked and annoyed. I eventually told a teacher and they were disciplined, but they didn’t stop. They just waited another day to go and bother me about that again. The sad thing was, is that I was bullied so much that it didn’t bother me much anymore, so I just tried to ignore them or snap at them. I dealt with that for a whole year, until I left the 8th grade and went into the highschool classes instead. This was two years ago, way before COVID. Stuff like this is absolutely ridiculous and just why?! Before you knew I was partially Chinese, you never said those words before. Why do it now? Flipping racists! And and you wanna know another messed up thing about it? The boys who did it WERE COLORED!!! I went thru racism back in school and my reaction back then was similar. Don't get wrong, I am completely Asian and is a target since day 1. The problem is Asian culture are used to not confronting conflicts until we are backed against the wall. So we would just suck it up and move on. Then before you realize it, *nobody think it is inappropriate to offend Asian, especially east Asian anymore*. Keep in mind that they know it's offensive, but they also know it's no big deal. Black people speaks out a lot and people are a lot more aware not to cross the line, except for the ones who intentionally want to cross it. Sometimes I even feel that black people are more racist toward Asian than white. May be becoz they want to look down on another race too? But I don't want to spread more hate. All I am saying is make sure you speak up about it. For you since you are very white passing, racism will go away for you easily. But if you want to help the situation, never hesitate to speak up. If that got you into confrontation, then you know your message has been heard

My son is half Asian and the amount of racism he has been the target of this year has FAR exceeded anything he’s ever been through. The kids say horrible things to him. In March his school nurse called me and asked me “what kind of Asian he is.” She said she was trying to “determine whether he would be a risk to other students.” Needless to say I was mortified! I didn’t even share this conversation with my son because he has already dealt with so much of this garbage this year and in general. And it hurts him. He’s only 10 and he’s already learning first hand about racism and white supremacy. We had a talk about it last year. But I have to admit, much of the talk about centered around racism towards black and brown folks and learning how to be ANTI-racist, himself. Of course we discussed how he could and likely would be the target of it at times throughout his life but I feel like our talk never could have prepared him for the amount of racism he’s experienced this year. Please folks, just be kind and thoughtful with your words. You never know if your children are listening and will repeat what you’re saying behind closed doors (or in public). And talk to your children about the importance of kindness and respect and about being ANTI-racist.

Jesse Jackson tried to restore that with his Rainbow Coalition. There has always been racism among other races in the world but it is sad to see here. In school I remember black kids being mean to the darker ones. I knew Asian girls who couldn't date other Asians. We have beautiful interracial marriages that primitive family members on both sides think are wrong. Imagination can, at least to some degree, help you see the negative feeljngs associated with it. Obviously experiencing something is more potent than text but it doesnt mean people cant empathize. If people couldnt do that Abraham Lincoln era white settlers would never have ended racism becuase they couldnt have empathized and saw it as wrong. That explanation sounds like back tracking social media post comments. Making assumptions regarding misconceptions about what races are racist seems irrelevant to this incident. Clearly the initial slur was racist, however other elements clearly were not. Asking someone if they speak English isn't racist at all. How ridiculous. At worst it's ignorance. Their purpose is to protect the insecured white supremacists from feeling being threatened of being treated as EQUAL as everybody else in the world. If equality can't be protected from scums like these racists and extremists what is democracy all about? And what is the god all about? Caucasians are not even his firstborn. To white supremacist racists: I know you are fragile and you feel insecure that China is going to be a larger player, Japanese out smart you, and Africans dominated music and sports. People around the world all have traits and talents. Go find the gold on yourself and be proud. There is no need to be xenophobic, because it is people who achieved all the greatness of the wonder that is what we live in today. However, if you use god to be racist I truly believe that there is a special crucible just for you to burn.

It kind of is because you wouldn't expect someone to walk up to a white person and ask what language they speak UNLESS you heard said white person actually speaking a different language. The point is that the question was unprompted by anything except for her appearance.
@mirage7113 жыл бұрын
It is racist because what business is it of them to ask her if she speaks English or not it's none of their business it doesn't matter if she speaks chinese, japanese, korean, spanish, any language it's none of their business what she speaks and in our country she can speak whatever language she wants
@ThePikmania3 жыл бұрын
@@hydraelectricblue I get what you mean. In this case it is clear that he wanted to provoce her based on her appearance and wouldn't have asked that otherwise. In another scenario if she were traveling abroad for example and someone would ask her this genuinely (which was not the case here, I know) it would depend on the intention, context, etc. like I said. (I guess one can argue that it is still racist even if the intention isn't malicious. Kinda depends on how you define it) This is the distinction I wanted to clarify.

All you need to understand is that people are constantly searching for opportunities to be victims and be triggered over non-sense so they can post it on twitter and get a bunch of attention from people. There was once a time when people got enough validation from their environment before social media and now people are so starved that every aspect of our society has become perverse. People get triggered over everything now and hold so much hate inside. This is what you get when you keep people separated behind screens - they stop understanding each other.

4 days before an election a news crew cries racism, and didn't record any of it even though they have phones and cameras. If they weren't recording someone else was it is 2020. The reporter says her producer tells a cop that a racist slur was thrown at her, but she says cop says its not racist to ask someone if they speak English. Sounds like a racial slur was never said and someone did ask her if she spoke English. Also this story stokes all cops are white supremacists. Everything about this story sounds wrong.
