@Moka66 I love science. That’s the only subject that interested me in school. I was taught to respect science, but never blindly trust anything 100%. Anything that “man” does can always have a defect. Just listen to the disclaimers on the advertising for the different “science” derived medicines. In Lincoln’s day, science said it was perfectly okay to put your fingers in an open wound and probe. As they did with him. Science has been great, but has also caused harm. That’s the way it is, which is why you can never just jump because someone with a degree told you to. Especially if they are making billions of dollars for saying it. Most things take many years to verify, especially when it’s entering your body. That will never change, even for politics.

@@shakerman55 Very few things are 100% reliable, but 99% reliability is more than acceptable in most cases, especially when the alternative is likely getting sick or exposing oneself to a significant risk. It seems you don’t understand how medicines are approved for use, even though you claim to value science. The testing process for medications takes years (excluding exceptions like COVID). Science involves thorough and multifaceted testing, whether it’s for a safety device or a medication.

Anthony Flew, a prominent philosopher and famous atheist, became convinced of the existence of God later in life mainly because of advancements in science, especially in the fields of cosmology, physics and the study of DNA. He felt that the complexity and design of the DNA molecule, with the intricate information encoded within it, pointed to an intelligent source. In his book "There Is a God: How the World's Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind," he says, "What I think the DNA material has done is that it has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce (life), that intelligence must have been involved in getting these extraordinarily diverse elements to work together." Common sense leads me to believe that there is a mind (God) behind life on earth. Did the first self-replicating cell randomly emerge from non-living matter through natural processes? Many atheists believe that it did, but science hasn’t proven it. All scientific evidence we have shows that life can only come from previously existing life. It takes faith to believe in God, but to believe that even a “simple” cell arose by chance from non-living matter requires a huge leap of faith.
