Debbie Reynolds was an extraordinary person, very real. I believed she did her best as parent, and mom. But as all of us deal with life , its tuff. She was very talented, very beautiful. She had two wonderful children, very talented. I thank God for her. Life is tuff. Much sadness. Eddie Fisher was a singer, that's it, unfortunately, he didn't realize what was in front of him. He seemed to hurt many. Maybe not on purpose, but he was selfish, he sang with such compassion, but he seemed to have none. Wow. So sad.

What a delightful adorable woman she was! I wish Larry would have kept quiet more though. He interrupted her often when she was in the middle of a point that was promising to be interesting. The impressions killed me...when she did Meryl Streep I couldn't stop laughing.

Amazing person, smart as a tack, never understood why she underestimated herself in singing, dancing and acting because she could do all three very well. She might not have been the best actress, the best singer, or the best dancer but if there was an oscar award for best entertainer, she would have won at least three times.
@socialcapricorn60423 жыл бұрын
Not to mention how stunningly beautiful she was, with those eyes, and a seemingly preternatural wit. For sure, she would be WAY better company over the course of an evening at an Upper East Side bar than any of her contemporises, Taylor, Monroe et all. Misunderstood, and grossly overlooked, universally portrayed as as a dippy airhead, but she had way more charisma and intelligence than 99% of her contemporises, that is for damn sure. She was fully aware of herself and her profound beauty and capabilities, without showing the slightest sign of hubris or arrogance, and that's what makes her even more attractive than most others. I'm in love, a little bit too late methinks.

Where does she do a Carrie impression?
@Ma_Ba6 жыл бұрын
@@darkphoenix474 Just after 26 minutes she relates the manner and content of a conversation she had with Carrie. I don't think that was being held up as an impression. Later, she does a bunch of impressions that were vocal,following them at 38 minutes with one of mannerisms of Meryl Streep. Earlier, when discussing Carrie and Todd, she is cognizant that Carrie was friends with Meryl Streep. From elsewhere on clips, I had seen that Carrie Fisher also socialized with Albert Brooks. Discussing the part in Brooks' Mother shows how smart Debbie Reynolds was. She also played Liberace's mother and mother on Will and Grace, but that must be subsequent to this interview. In this interview, she also discusses her latter marriages in a more nuanced way. Carrie Fisher had an interesting mother and Debbie Reynolds had an interesting daughter. I appreciate this interview of her!!!

@Ma_Ba6 жыл бұрын
@@darkphoenix474 Uncanny! I wonder if anyone else had ever attempted Meryl Streep since she is famous for inhabiting different personas herself. Debbie Reynolds was observant. Association I make is nowadays Heidi Gardner of 2018 SNL does some characters captured by highlighting micro mannerisms for her technique.

Debbie was a true professional and a real trooper who worked hard all her life. She wasnt lucky with the men in her life who married her and betrayed her but Debbie's motto was 'brush yourself off and start again!' Her collection of MGM costumes and props was wonderful. When Carrie passed away, her son Todd said Debbie's last words before she died of a stroke were "I want to be with Carrie"...they are together now in a better place. RIP Debbie x

Of Women truly. My father John D was in love with Debbie. They were about the same age. Ironically my Mother Evelyn was in love with Perrie Como. She must of had one hundred Albums of Como in song . In 1996 I was still rather good looking Cat. Tell the truth I'd been p whipped like my father John & been honered to have touched such a wonderful heart as Debbie had been blessed with. I bet she was dyamite n love Air! Moreover, timing was the sole case scenario with any relationship someones of a man or men were blessed. Glad I took the time too listen into the long road history of Debbie's beautiful Mary's life story. Only N America, most exceptional a true example of American exccptionalism.
