CES 2024 gave us a first look at Xreal's Air 2 Ultra and we were seriously impressed. It takes guts to go after the Apple Vision Pro for a fraction of the price, which is why we gotta hand it to the Xreal Air 2 Ultra. Can these affordable AR glasses give Apple's Vision Pro a run for its money?

Will the s24 be compatible with these glasses? The xreal website only shows the s22 and s23. I would like to think it will be, but then again their current android app supports the s20 but not the s23...

It would be fine if we actually had both a true 3D VR operating system (complete with a competent file tree that you can explore as a legit workspace and/or world) which is lacking in all these Mobile based kitbashed interfaces stuck in 'app' store functionality, and a complete reinvention of how the Internet interfaces with us. As a world, just as every Cyberpunk author describes, not a bunch of 2D documents to shuffle through with the occasional piece of embedded 2d media. Today's web domain architecture is just a glorified Dewey Decimal system.

I have the Xreal airs, I’ve had them for almost 2 years. The ultra will never compete with the Apple Vision Pro. Xreal sucks as a company. They have made horrible decisions and horrible updates the whole time I’ve had the glasses.
