these have been a huge quality of life improvement for me. I'm a farmer and on the days I have to spend hours upon hours crawling a tractor across a huge field, being able to watch some shows from my phone while keeping my head up and able to see that i'm still on track and my implement is still operating fine, has made the work so much more enjoyable. I obviously don't recommend using these while operating dangerous equipment or driving, but I own everything involved, the risk is minimal, and most importantly, no one else is involved in that risk. these glasses have made a necessary part of my life way more enjoyable, what a great product.

Congratulations on the twins! I have twins too. Tons of fun. I really could’ve used the Xreal when they were babies. I have a pair of the air 2 and I am honestly quite impressed with them as well. Much better than I expected. A tip in regards to privacy. You can plug into your MacBook and dim the screen all the way down and you’ll still see content in the glasses, and you’ll get more battery life as well

I have owned the NReal Air glasses for over a year and a half and love them. They are not perfect for everything, but what they do, they really do well. The biggest thing I notice is how bright and clear the displays are. I really think you could watch these outside in direct sunlight with no issues. Nothing else I have is as bright. The color and clarity are wonderful. I use these with my iPad Pro 12.9” Gen 3 and my iPhone 12 pro max. I also have a Samsung Note Ultra 20 and it works great with that as well. The only issue I can find with this is that the browser and other software in the AR side are not standard software, meaning that data privacy could be an issue. Imagine using some weird, third party browser to log into your KZbin account and giving your access credentials away! Scary. If you keep that in mind, this is a great product.

Side view is a good fit for me because i do alot of walking on my commute to work when i go to wait for my bus and after getting off the bus to arrive at the office so just having the screen off the side playing content that does not require much visual attention and not blocking my vision would be great

I’ve got the Air 2 and the beam. They are excellent and the display is unbelievable. My only gripe is the over ear speakers are not loud. If you cup them with your hands they sound louder 😂 I tend to use ear pods so no real issue. I got a cheap iPhone/ipad remote to pause and play without having to look at the screen.

Great video and sounds like you're a wonderful father and husbands. Cheers on that. About the small screen floating on the side, it would be great to use while cooking and needing to follow a recipe without having to look at a real cook book, or even a manual while working on something physical. I think the uses are endless. Please review the XREAL Air 2 Ultra. They're not out yet, but I think reviewers can get their hands on them.

I had the exact same reaction. I was waiting for the Apple headset, and I thought I would try these not really expecting to keep them. They were fantastic. Expected to use them primarily on airplanes (and they are much less obtrusive for that purpose.) but I find myself using them when I am watching a movie by myself versus watching on a big screen TV. Immediately ordered another pair for my wife. With these, I may just pass on the first generation of the Apple headset. Thanks for a great channel.really enjoy your reviews.

@ProperHonestTech I notice what looks like the LG DualUp in the background, I am a cloud engineer and data scientist and wanted your opinion between the DualUp and these for productivity? Comfort is a big deal for me and so I have been considering the Air 2 pro so I can lounge with my laptop while working, however I am also tempted by the DualUp for it's reliability (as an actual physical monitor) and versatility for writing and editing long code. I work from home and my office is windowless and so I'm curious if you think personally the Air 2 (with or without beam) would be a better option than the DualUp? I don't normally ask questions in comments however you uniquely have experience with both of my current options!

Don't buy any AR/Display glasses. Unless you have a small head or you are a child(not an adult child). You need to know the IPD of your eyes and the distance between the screens of the AR/Display glasses before you buy a set. It's funny you watch reviews of AR/display glasses, the reviewers look like they are cross-eyed because the screens are set so close together. These reviewers are clueless to why the screen looks blurry on the outer right and left sides. The outer sides look blurry because there is no IPD/PD setting and the screens are set too close together. All the glasses look like they are made for a kid or an adult with a small head. The quest 2 has three settings IPD 58mm, 63mm, and 68mm. The quest 3 has a IPD setting with a range of 58mm - 71mm. I hope all the AR/Display glasses brands read this!

I agree, I bought myself Viture glasses, their interpupillary distance is from 58 to 62 mm, this is not indicated anywhere, even my wife is not comfortable looking at them. Why don’t they make it possible to change the distance, because the technology of individual screens allows you to do this. And the strangest thing is that no one mentions this in reviews of AR glasses.

just as a side node you can also just run a hdmi + usb to usb - c mode eith the glasses the beam itself is just to enable nebula features for all devices (side view / body anchor / smooth follow) therefore only glasses work on everything that has usb + hdmi (with a 15€ purchase) and the beam if you want to have those extra features aswell

Fantastic concept came to a real product! I don’t understand WHY TF big players like Apple and Samsung didn’t do it before. It is SIMPLE. Start just with an external monitor of your smartphone your comp or anything. Everybody is in their phones and comps today. Why should you invent anything complex like AR VR #R than the MUCH SIMPLIER need is on the surface??? They dumb lost this opportunity for the good of NREAL-XREAL! I have used the version 1. For me, the price isn’t too high because it’s more or less the same as buying two extra monitors for a three screen setup, with the added benefit of using it also to see movies and videos. I would use it 99% of the times for these two purposes, the 1% being the ocasional gaming session 😊

Very awesome video, exactly what I‘ve been looking for since these kind of glasses are almost constantly in my mind. But to spend over 450 Swiss Francs (over 500$) is not a small thing to do. But since I own a 15 Pro Max and 2 x M1 iPads with a USBC port covers the question of connectivity. Im normally use a projector unless with some else watching im not going back that anymore after these glass. no setup faff big bright picture and later purchase of beam can only improve options im only using the first model branded as nreal. the option to pin screen off center opens up using navigation and still see the road in dayligh hours a new horizon like headup display fighter jet tec maybe rear view too with beams 3 screens

Great video review in many ways, but still left me wondering can you watch a movie/youtube with them while hovvering the stairs or cleaning up? A question that is not fully answered by your review - the only hint that this may be possible is that you state you can shrink the screen to concentrate on the real world enviroment, despite saying these are not really AR glasses and you darken out the real world with a filter.

Finally got mine two days ago. Funny I just realized my nose is slightly off center making the view from the glasses also slightly off center (making the sides in some situation blurry). I found this out by lookng straight at the screen then closing one eye after the other. If Xreal can read this maybe make a nose pad or the screen adjustable to the left or right to center the screen for noses like mine or for those with broken nose.

I’ve read on Reddit the software you need to use for MacBooks doesn’t work with M2 chip. Were you using M1 or M2? I’m looking at these mainly for the 3 screen setup for software development instead of forking over $2000 for monitors

Value is an odd thing isn’t it. Saying these are expensive (not compared to VisionPro of course) is a relative assessment. I think the average price of a new car today is about £20,000 or so. £20k. That seems to be seen as perfectly fine and normal by most people. £20,000. Only your house probably costs more if you own one. Do you hear people saying “Wow! How do you afford a VW Polo? They’re so expensive.” ? The most I’ve ever paid for a car (I’m in my 60s) is the one I bought last year - £1,400 for a FIAT Panda from 2005. Goes really nicely, economical, comfortable, quiet and does everything I need. That’s just saved me roughly £18,000 at least. Makes a VisionPro look cheap doesn’t it? As for a pair of these expensive glasses … Until 15 minutes ago I’d never heard of these, but for about 1/40th the price of a VW Polo I’d certainly consider them! Great review, thanks.

I would use them almost solely for media consumption of streaming services. 2 questions, 1 what's the quality and experience like in comparison to watching a half decent TV in your living room? 2 why would you hold off on buying a beam for media consumption?

The beam doesn't have enough apps. I don't even know where I put it. Attaching to my phone and watching any streaming app is great. It's a better quality and larger picture than my 120in 1080 projector. I also attach to steamdeck

I found wearing prescription glasses works with these but it is not ideal, I forked out the £100 for lenses and it does make a big difference. As for the strength of the lenses and being able to get them you'd need to speak to the optician whom you choose to make them. If I had been a little less impulsive I could have found another supplier for half the price. So, shop around.

I find the huge screen claim on all of these item to be silly, they look like a monitor in front of you, that's all. If you want install a miniature set of little theater benches in front of your computer monitor and imagine your monitor is an IMax, it's just as imaginary to think otherwise.

I have these glasses. You can get a Samsung smartphone with Dex. Dex is a computer-like environment you can use with your glasses, and it is actually a better solution than Nebula, which is the native Nreal application. I use both Nebual and Dex as both are useful, but most of the time I use Dex.

You’re comparing two totally different products @ 0:10 - Apple Vision PRO is comparable to Meta Quest PRO (VR). While Xreal on the other hand is comparable to RayBan Meta smartglasses. Which brings me to my next point: What do you think Apple Vision will be? Apple Vision minus the PRO? (Smartglasses of course!)

Are you near-sighted or far-sighted? I’m pretty much near sighted and have a pretty strong Prescription. I take off my glasses to see 6 to 12 inches in front of me, like when I often use my phone, so I have kind of assumed that I should be able to see the screens sans contacts. Although if I hold anything 1 inch in front of my eyes it is blurry with OR without my glasses on. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It’s been a few years since I worn my contacts at all actually.
