I make $16 an hour and that still isn’t enough, and what sucks the most out of it is that the government claims that I make too much to receive assistance such as housing or WIC/Stamps. I have a two year old daughter and in a month we’ll be bound to be homeless due to the whole renting progress being broken as well. I cannot get into a place without somebody telling me that I need a co-applicant, but I don’t have anybody. I don’t care if I have to live in a studio apartment, I just want the best life for my daughter that’s not in a shelter.

I don't know what I think about situations like this. At first you want to criticize and say "don't do this" "don't do that". I have been lucky, but I came from very little. I was also fairly smart, but I worked hard in school and got a doctorate. I'm not sure why some people fail to see the importance of school and others are lifted out by gifts, luck, or opportunity. Philly Girl I'm not sure what the other people mean by their comments, but my personal thought on the situation is this, it is imperative that people educate themselves on crafts, a personal chef, a hairstylist, a musician, a masseuse, a landscaper, an Uber driver, growing your own vegetables and then selling them at an open-air Market, running errands for the elderly, subleasing your house or apartment and pulling the equity out of it, doing all of those things will bring you a lot of money every week and there are tons of other ways to make money on your own terms, when you're self-employed, you're in control of how much money you make, living on minimum wage doesn't have to be an option, it shouldn't be an option if you have children, it's all about educating yourself and making a difference in your life
