Coach Anthony, just the guy I wanted to talk to. I understand you not only train boxers but mma guys as well. If that's true, maybe you can answer this for me...can you still pull off a flying armbar if your opponent doesn't reach his arm out to hold the back of your neck?

@TheBookofTobit3 жыл бұрын
This was to feel out his opponent early on. He didn't dance for 15 rounds. Look at the fight vs Chuvalo for example. Also, young Ali fought a Lotta older men who couldn't catch him. This would not be effective today. The fighters r much better conditioned. You better not try the "Ali". You will get knocked out

i still remember my first muay thai coach when i was sparr with him, he strike me with 2 3 punches and he one or two step back and then he step forward very fast and strike again and step back one or two step back, because he step two steps backward make it hard for me to reach him again easily i mean 2 step back after strike is also good escape and easy basic thing to do, i still remember, thank you coach anthony

It is not easy but just listen to your favorite songs and focus on - that you should not punch the heavy bag in full power and every punch should be relaxed! I would like to see high guard videos or course and the reason being is that if a swarmer comes at you may or may not be able to use your boxing. Most recent examole Texeira who tried to box against Castana. Texeira had a horrible high guard and took a bad beating b.c he had very little technique and knowledge in how to place his gloves around the face. Another example was the high guard of JoJo Diaz this past weekend. Canelo has finally mastered the high guard defense and he rarely gets winded anymore as a result. Eddie Chambers has a great high guard, still remember his shootout with Povetkin

I was hoping someone reply to your comment I would say only in ring anything not boxing shoes would mess up footwork if you in a street fight with life on line outside of the ring then the shoes u have on won’t matter if you out in about and get tested unexpectedly by trolls then you just have to be prepared at all times regardless of what shoes you got on
