Hello Doctor! Can they still verify or check the specialization (eg cardiologist) of IMG even after passing AMC and currently working as junior doctor?
@CareerDoctor2 жыл бұрын
If you go down the AMC route you are progressing towards general registration. So no. Information about your past specialty from another country is not included on the Medical Board of Australia registration information.

Hi, I am a final year medical student in the UK. I am an Australian citizen, and was planning to come to Aus after FY1. My ultimate goal would be specialty training in surgery. Other than the CV/portfolio, is there an inherent disadvantage that I would be facing given I did not do my degree in Australia?
@CareerDoctor2 жыл бұрын
Yes. You need PR or citizenship to apply for surgical training in Australia.

Hi no disadvantage after you clear the competent authority pathway process.

Hello Sir. I am an Internal Medicine-Infectious Diseases specalist from the Philippines with 7 years of clinical experience. Which is the better pathway to take with the higher chance of approval? Specialist or standard pathway? Thank you!

Hi doctor. I m planning to take amc. i m 39 years but a recent graduate as i started my medical school in my 30s. Does age matter as i heard there is age based point system that might be an obstacle to immigrate to australia. If at all, is plab route feasible ? Thanx for the reply.
@CareerDoctor2 жыл бұрын
Age is not an issue for employment here. It does affect permanent migration somewhat.

Hi doc, I have a doubt. Is it better to shift to Australia after MBBS or PG? I am currently a 3rd year Med student from India. My ambition is to become a Surgeon.
@CareerDoctor2 жыл бұрын
That question really all depends on your personal circumstances. Given Surgery is really hard to get into even for Australian trainees. On balance I would say you are better off trying to come here earlier.

Sir is medical education free in australia? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
@CareerDoctor2 жыл бұрын
This depends on your definition of free. But basically no. For some students medical school operates under a deferred payment system where you accumulate a tuition debt with the Government that you only have to pay out if you achieve a certain level of income. It's called the HELP system. As doctors are paid relatively well. Most start paying this off in their intern year. There are costs associated with specialty training as well.
