@@coachingbadminton I wonder if you understood the refernence. Dronacharya was a big deal in Hindu Mythology. Still today, India has National awards named after him for Coaches specifically.

You could do the same training with a cane on your kids too. I could see the same "whip" like snapping action. And i think the cane sounds better when it lands ..

Depending on how old you are and the severity of the tear (medial VS lateral meniscus tear), you should be able to get back to badminton within a few weeks. However, more important for badminton is leg strengthening exercises so that your knee is not injured again. In fact the more leg strengthening exercises you do, the quicker you can get back. When I had my medial meniscus tear cleaned at age 35, I started playing in 4 weeks after surgery. Now at 55, I had another meniscus tear in my left knee, I am going to come back slower due to my age but will work on leg strengthening. Exercise and stay fit. It will prevent future injuries. Good luck.

Coach Lee Do we use forehand grip for forehand drive??
@coachingbadminton5 жыл бұрын
Yes and it is bit different depending on how early or how late you take and how much swing you do.

Dont you think lee , your smash technique is different from the the traditional pronation tech . used by professionals , If there would a power loss in pronation why would international players have been using it Its more deceptive as opponent cant judge whether its going to be cross court or straight, in my opinion
@coachingbadminton5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for putting your view. I am giving different ways and alternative ways with my reasons. It is playersand coaches to view then and choose which ever they feel good and right for them.
@amitray66145 жыл бұрын
I don't think Coach Lee advised that we shouldn't use pronation when smashing. If you are referring to the section around 3m40, that's about playing a drive with short racquet action, and even in that Coach Lee only suggested not to use "too much" pronation. He never said to not use pronation at all. Hope it clarifies.
@coachingbadminton5 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for your explanation. In badminton, it is really not possivble to hit with out pronation. It is question of how much you use it. Thank you.
