In the past coaching and playing in this system we were successful on outside zone as long as there was no run thru from backers and if that play side tackle could reach the outside shoulder of that end. Guaranteed 5 yards

Coach just want you to know that your videos helped me be able to organize my thoughts. I use 70% of your stuff but the way your breakdown of teaching and implementing has really helped me. Thank you. I hope all is well!! God bless

Thx coach great vid. I also use an H back and run traditional power and have the guard and Y pull and then run power read off of same action. If power read the guard will slip the DE and go block the ally for the RB give and if pull the QB still has a lead blocker for power.

I like it Coach. Good stuff.
@dmeek205 жыл бұрын
Great video coach. On the power read do you ever switch the Q and F? Example... we have hopped (motion) the F over on "set" and had him come straight downhill with QB being the outside runner.

Thanks Daniel no haven’t done it that way but I like the idea. I’m going to play around with it. Thanks

Hey coach any thoughts on these plays vs 5 man fronts? I’m a youth coach and expecting to see a lot of those this year. Thank you for sharing!
@CoachJoeSalas5 күн бұрын
Talking about an odd front? Works great vs odd. If they have you outnumbered in the box you have to throw quick screens until they cover your receivers.

Thanks for the great video, coach. Can you explain how you teach your gap/down/backer rule?
@CoachJoeSalas4 жыл бұрын
Michael Johnson just like wing-t. Rule is guy in your inside gap. If no one there guy head up on the next inside OL. If no one there work to LB.

Coach, Great video. Quick question on blocking this in a 3-4 or 3-3 stack; are you doubling with power blocking the NG?
@CoachJoeSalas5 жыл бұрын
Eric Allen thanks buddy. Our base way to block an odd is G down on nose & C back on DT. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

Hey coach, how do you signal in these plays? Play direction as well?
@CoachJoeSalas4 жыл бұрын
ncarden19 we are a wristband team. We signal formation & then wristband play.

Checking to see if I have understood this correctly. On counter and dart the first decision for the QB is whether to throw the screen to either side, right? Only if the QB sees that it is covered does this now become a running play, right? What percentage of the time is the screen pass thrown?
@CoachJoeSalas4 жыл бұрын
Tommy Breen correct. It is there a lot but we need to throw it more often.

Coach how do you handle defenses that give you Bear fronts or 7 men in the box to take away your running game? There is a team in our area that their #1 answer vs air raid offenses is to go 7 man box and cover zero
@CoachJoeSalas4 жыл бұрын
Teacher Gains the video called Air Raid vs Press Man covers a lot of it. Always tough but I think they give you a chance for big plays when they do that.
@teachergains32134 жыл бұрын
@@CoachJoeSalas awesome ill have to check that out. I think the back could be big if he gets the ball in space. What would you think about using Now screens to #2 in 2x2 sets and just releasing the PS tackle and Guard to LB and safety? Basically make a DL tackle a receiver.
@CoachJoeSalas4 жыл бұрын
Teacher Gains I like it. I like the back on option route also. 👍🏈

If you get Bear…be creative and develop as many ways as you can to run off tackle in the C gap.

Coach you ever run 20/11 personnel? If so how does run game change for you?

Jarrod Bell not very often. We just didn’t have a big rec that could help us in there.

Josiah Reed he is a good one to watch. We went to a few spring practices when he was there. Lots of fun.

You ever run Q counter reading the backside DE with a toss to the back? So your back would be away...QB makes a toss if the DE sits or attacks Q. If DE attacks the back then he would just run the Q Counter.
@CoachJoeSalas6 жыл бұрын
Johnny Kavanaugh Haven't done that but sounds good!

Noticed was all your runs used the numbering system and all in the 20's, is there a reason for that
@CoachJoeSalas3 жыл бұрын
Just the way we came up with to stay organized. No magic to it. Some people use names or other numbers. Just have a system for your players 👊
