Why do we have two separate tests for the two forms of the enzyme?Why can’t we detect bound coagulase in the tube test OR free form in the slide test?

Thank you for your effort, but I have a question, Why not to use the blood instead of the plasma???
@BiologyProfessor5 жыл бұрын
The proteins that clot in the presence of coagulase are more concentrated in the plasma.

Thank you for this vedio Why coagulase converts fibrnogin to fibrin
@BiologyProfessor4 жыл бұрын
It results in blood clotting. The resulting clot protects the bacterium from phagocytosis (we think).

Pls provide list of coagulase positive bacteria.

From Wikipedia: List of coagulase-positive staphylococci: Staphylococcus aureus subsp. anaerobius, S. aureus subsp. aureus, S. delphini, S. hyicus, S. intermedius, S. lutrae, and Staphylococcus schleiferi subsp. coagulans.

Thank you for all of these wonderful MicroBio test videos! I was wondering if you have a recommendation for information on the Bile-Esculin test? I did not see a video of yours for this test (which I prefer), but if you have a source you recommend for other microbio tests, I would love to hear it!

I will add it to my list - thank you! Here is a website with a great summary: microbiologyinfo.com/bile-esculin-test/

Thank you for this wonderful knowledge, Professor. May I have a question, please? Why do we check for the coagulase tube test after 90 minutes, instead of leaving it overnight? Is there any change if that was a positive test and we leave it too long? Thank you!
@BiologyProfessor2 жыл бұрын
You might get a false positive if you leave it too long.

@@BiologyProfessor Does the clump get melted? If yes, what factor has made it melt? Thank you very much, Professor
@BiologyProfessor2 жыл бұрын
No, there is no melting. I the clump could be disrupted by vigorous shaking, but I’ve never tried.
