Nissan Leaf Battery Cooling Hack: Please use the leaf blower hack. I know it sounds strange, but buy a cheap leaf blower and plug it into an EcoFlow or equivalent and that trip will be no problem.

That is actually perfect. I never thought of that. I was going to get a small fan and put it under the car as I’m charging or as I’m sleeping at night to make sure I wake up with a cool battery. I never even thought about that and electric leaf blower thank you so much for that.

Well, I think you can make it. The battery on the Leaf is pretty robust. Your Leaf has a greater advantage over mine because of battery size. I purchased the cheaper model with the 40kwh battery, but I only purchased it for around town driving. Perfect for that. For across country driving, no way would it make it. I’ll take that back as perhaps it will, come to think of it. But it will take longer. Still, I won’t attempt it. Plan it well, which you are, you should have little difficulty. Oh, by the way, glad to hear that you’re thinking about eating more healthy. Keep eating the way you are and what happened to me recently might happen to you . . . the “Widow Maker.” My friend bought me a t-shirt, and on the front it reads; “I Survived a Heart Attack. What’s Your Super Power.” Gets people’s attention. 😊

As a truck driver over all these years, most truckstops have pulled out regular restaurants and put fast food in their place and maybe the last 10 years every truck driver out there is eating some of the worst food possible now that I am more local and able to eat at home and eat at nicer restaurants don’t serve your food in three minutes or less. I’m starting to feel a lot better.

@@nomadichippieglad to here that. Traveling on the road is difficult when most turn off feature fast food restaurants. I know it’s not the best, but I go to Subway if available. I have them pile on the veggies. 😊

My 2018 leaf overheated constantly on the 200 mile trip from San Antonio to Dallas it was one of the most frustrating and longest trips of my life and the drive back was even worse. 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I think it's possible to get it done. The issue is more of the time of rest. How are you going to sleep. Tent, sleeping bag in the car? Overnight charging? I am very interested in the trip.

I think my plan is every morning leave with the full charge from a 1772 that way the battery should not heat up overnight during the daytime to fast charges and then as I find a place to park either a library or courthouse or somewhere that has a 1772 just plug-in fall asleep in the car And if I generate enough revenue on PayPal for one or two nights along the way for a hotel, I’ll do that, but I will only support hotels that have EV charging

Owned the same model. If you can make this work, you will embarrass a lot of auto influencers. The problem I see is the 5 days. The car will be either driving or charging the whole time. That nice big battery likes to stay hot once it gets hot - thermal mass effect. 7 days, no problem. Hoping my math is wrong. Nissan put a fan (somewhere) in their European eNV200 van - why not in Leaf? May you fly with the wings of Pegasus.

That's my plan, LOL and barrass, eperiod LO. L I'm gonna grab a electric leaf blower before I go. Do some testing to see if I can cool down the battery using a leaf blower while chargand if that. Works. That could be the real game changer
