You know I'm also fascinated with how quickly they launch those trains! That ride consistently has the shortest wait time compared to most higher end attractions in both parks. I think it goes to show the difference between Disney Imagineering's design of a roller coaster compared to other traditional amusement parks. Not to mention that Disney parks have way more guests to funnel through their attractions compared to other parks. Very few other parks come close!

At night incredicoaster is pretty good with some really cool looking decals on the inside of the tubes where you could see the family trying to -stop- save Jack-Jack from his powers. Incredicoaster may be the my favorite ride at either park and really helped allowed me to enjoy the entire ride. The music from the incredibles also really fits the ride. Idk all I know is I enjoyed California adventures. But not as much as Disneyland, but would still give it a 8.5/10 while Disneyland would get a 9 to a 9.25. Both great parks, I recommend the pasta if you go by California adventure it’s restaurant tier food.

A beachbomber paradise, with a supposed Hawaiian mountain backdrop, Screamin’ didn’t have much theming in the concept art, but, there was still some interesting stuff in there, including it going in a water filled pit, and supposedly having a soundtrack that had hints of Beach Boy’s music. I had no idea this roller coaster has a record! Albeit, one that was inherited when Son of Beast died. As an AP holder for Disneyland Resort, I've been on this ride both when it was California Screamin' and in its current form as the Incredicoaster. I really like the re-theming to the Incredibles. California Adventure was a horrible disappointment to many. Especially to me as I was hoping for the more ambitious WestCOT. A friend of mine was at Disney Imagineering when Eisner came in one day and announced the cancellation of that project and the formation of California Adventure. A year later my friend quit his job there in protest. It's amazing that Iger has had to spend billions of dollars fixing Eisner's horrible mistake. California Adventure is still far from the park it should've been. But the improvements are really well done, especially Cars Land. I always enjoy Incredicoaster and I always ride it every time I visit Disneyland Resort. Sure it's not as thrilling as the rides found at Knott's or Six Flags Magic Mountain. But it's still a lot of fun! Especially with the Incredibles theme.

So... My whole problem with this ride isnt the theme, in fact I love the idea. I juat hate that it had to be a retheme. I wish we coild have gotten a more intense Incredicoaster, one that actually lives up to the name. Now I know its Disney, and they love to recycle, and I know it needs to be kid friendly, however they could have made a coaster that had more than one inversion, and less brake runs.

Sad to say, this is about as intense as we'll ever get from any disney park... they're so concerned with family friendliness and limiting themselves that they don't realize kids can enjoy more intense thrillrides too. Which is why it makes me really happy that the recent nickelodeon theme park in Jersey understood that, and their TMNT coaster Shellraiser has more inversions and a big drop that goes way beyond 90 degrees.
@MagicalBread5 жыл бұрын
The only reason why there aren’t more Disney coasters with inversions is because they’re afraid that an extremely thrilling ride like that will bring in a demographic they don’t want. Disney wants to keep the parks as kid friendly as possible..... 🤷♂️

I know it’s supposed to be conventional wisdom now, but I don’t get the idea that DCA struggled early on due to its being themed after the greater culture of Southern California. Many, many themes parks have theming related to the greater location of the park, but no one criticizes that. Personally, I think DCA struggled early on for one simple reason: their selection of rides and attractions was limited and unimpressive. The solution, IMO, was not the new theming; it was putting in amazing attractions like Cars Radiator Springs.
@DoswarePictures5 жыл бұрын
It’s a variety of reasons such as: - The location. Disney Parks typically take you to a far away place, and you’re already in California. - The rides. All except Screamin and Soarin were rather bland, and Superstar Limo was god awful. - The atmosphere. Most Disney parks have a large amount of trees surrounding the park so that you don’t see things outside, but DCA didn’t have it, allowing you to see the Anaheim Convention Center from Paradise Pier. - The lack of kid rides. There wasn’t a lot of stuff for the kids to do, so they did a quick fix in 2002 with A Bug’s Land, but it was also generic and A Bug’s Life is one of the least popular Pixar movies. - The tackiness. Most sections of the park, particularly Paradise Pier, were very tacky. And not much like what a Disney Park would be. Also in 2001, Tokyo DisneySea opened, and it was beautiful. I think I’ve might have gone too far.

COASTER BOT yeah, since DCA was always lost in its identity theming, I loved the simple boardwalk “wooden” roller coaster as it was
@SPRidley5 жыл бұрын
I love the incredibles, is my favourite 3d animated movie. I love Michael Giacchino, is my favourite composer. And yet California Screamin was better. Pixar Pier was a terrible idea, when the cool thing would have been just keep fixing the vintage fairground theming of California Adventure 2.0, unril its final, disney level themed final form. They were getting there, but then they just saif, nah lets put IP to all this. They destroyed the wenie anchor of the park being Tower of Terror, which could be seen for every area actually making the 2.0 retheme of the park even more lore interesting. I still dream of a California Screamin with an actual queue inside a building (station included) themed to victorian theme parks, with the story in the queue told as the history of the roller coaster. Make the victorian barker a character in the queue (voiced by NPH), finalizing with an animatronic of him inside a gazebo in the boardwalk part were guests can see the launch, and the launch countdown acted by the actual animatronic. While no trains are in the launch he says a ton of canned phrases to the people walking around boardwalk And most important, leave the old soundtrack. Make a remastered version if needed, but that theme was what actually made California Screamin such a fun coaster, the ps with the fairground, the fast parts with the cheesy awesome rock and the epic final part after the bunny hills with the 2 parts of the song coming together in a fantastic ending.
@jstyxx41105 жыл бұрын
Wait didn’t California Screamin’ stuck upside down? I’ve never been here before, but now the ride seems appealing, also thank you for clarifying that it wasn’t wooden, and I never knew that it was the longest coaster with an inversion. Thanks!

Meh...? Don't really see what's so bad about it. The entrance and queue has the 60s architecture style of the film, and the ride has all of the characters featured and even a plot. Roller coasters typically don't have a super big theme since they go by so fast anyway. So for what they had, I think it works.
@TECfan15 жыл бұрын
@@mcqueendies They've always advertised in their parks. That's kind of why it's called Disneyland. It's a theme park themed around Disney films. From the very start, they had the Peter Pan ride, Dumbo ride, and the icon of the park is the princess castle. So...?
@micromoron33095 жыл бұрын
remember it's a REthemed ride. They can only do so much with a rollercoaster that was originally themed to being a boardwalk-style layout and support structure. don't get me wrong, the theming isn't up to par with Disney's usual amount of theming, but the sub-par theming is more understandable when you take into account the original ride's theme.

When I rode it in 2015, I felt that the on-ride music on California Screamin took away from the ride's intensity, and it just became boring toward the end of the ride. Though I do understand that for most people it adds to the ride, because of the kind of rollercoaster that I am used to (not themed very much, not many story elements, and more focused on intense track elements with fast pacing) I Personally feel the on-ride music should be optional, especially on a rollercoaster with as little theming as California Screamin had.
