Thanks for the video, really appreciate the info throughout it. Although I have a few question regarding landbased fishing, firstly when you said you were sounding were you actually looking for fish on the sounder or just the dropoffs. Also I have read in articles how the big fish tend to sit in eddys particularly around the mullet run. From a landbased point of view if you have any advice on how to locate those eddys I would greatly appreciate it. Look forward to hearing back.
@CoastfishTV4 жыл бұрын
We focus on the drift primarily and watch the sounder just to see if there is any fish around. More of a confidence builder on that point. You'll actually see the eddys. That change on the surface. Indicates either a drop off below, structure and possibly water currents clashing. Personally I would drift the lot and into the eddy. Another handy tip is some of the bigger jew come out and play at dusk till dawn. Give that a shot if it's safe to do so. 🤙

Is 80lb leader with a 10-15kg rod for drifting for big jews around breakwalls with heavy structure overkill? Are they line shy?
@CoastfishTV2 жыл бұрын
I don't think you need to go that heavy personally. 60lb seems to work. If you snag on heavy structure below, 80 will just make it harder for you to break off your rig for a re-tie. Lighter leader will get you more interest if Jew are finicky on the day. A good way to test the theory in your area are by taking 2 rods. 1 mate has 60lb and you use 80lb. Same weight and bait. See who gets the nibs.

@CoastfishTV3 жыл бұрын
There are a couple of bait grounds near by. Head out of the seaway and past the sand pumping jetty. Shoot out to sea from there. You'll see boats and that is the bait ground. Also join local fishing pages on the Gold Coast and fishos will be more than helpful giving you exact coordinated. I don't have them as I've sold my boat since that video was made. Good luck
