I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest.
@CoatsandGaiters Жыл бұрын
The pump will draw a huge power load so your battery will need to be in good shape. The alternator will struggle to supply charge to a worn out battery and the power steering pump............... "Thanks You, I would like to know how the electrical part of the hydraulic pump works, what voltages should it reach and when, because I have a failure in that type of pump, the steering wheel is hard one day and it was perfect the next day it did not start due to low battery, I am afraid that something electronic has been deprogrammed or the pump has failed, thanks you"

Hi mate just looking at your video do you know if the alternator stops working will let's have a effect on the steering pump just I was driving the other night and my alternator went and at the same time my steering stop working
@CoatsandGaiters3 жыл бұрын
I'd have thought so as the power steering pump takes a lot of power, once the alternator stops all resources are onto the battery only and whatever charge it has remaining.

Unfortunately you didn’t open the brush area for a clean and check. The capacitors on the circuit board can be replaced if they are bulging or popped. If your pump has failed this will be the area to check.

I changed my pump because mine burned ... I bought a used one But now it makes a shriek when moving the direction, what will be the cause?
@CoatsandGaiters3 жыл бұрын
I did read about some of the pumps catching fire which concerned me hence I opened it to clean it. Mine shrieks on full lock in either direction. I was under the impression it is caused by the build up of carbon inside the motor and getting onto the electronic circuit board though when I used compressed air on mine I didn't open it to see the circuit board and hoped the compressed air would work. I wonder if changing the fluid would improve things. Personally that's probably the cheapest thing to try first. I'd remove that black cap on the motor and drain as much as possible. Some would still be in the rack but if you got most out you could see if that improves things. Start with the basic first. You could take your old pump totally apart so you can see how it goes together and then maybe try a better clean than I did if the fluid didn't help.

Yes, you just drain the fluid first and disconnect the power and signal cables and undo the bolts then disconnect the fluid lines.
