it wont load because it says instance not compatible with java version 21 switch to java version 17 but i try to change version and it doesn’t work

Others have had success deleting their non-17 Java versions after installing 17. This is outside of the scope of what I'm familiar with though, so if that gives you trouble, Google is your friend in this case.
