Well what a great day fishing. Nice to have the ships there. Over here in florida we look for manarays swimming along the beach. They usually hang out under them. Still trying to catch my first one over here. Use to catch a lot over in crystal river years ago but they don't seem there are a lot left. Thanks for the video. Enjoyed it. I owe you some thanks young fella. Cought my 1st cobia and 1st tuna yesterday. Seen how you did this and off the coast of Pascagoula I found the line of ships and the 1st one ppl produced well using live mullet then the capitan yelled over the side asking to borrow some very large hooks(his words I think lol)

Try using a bigger croaker or foot long mullet, that will keep the smaller cobia off your bait most of the time.

I would consider fishing around the Red and Green Channel Ship channel bouys. They will hold cobra sometimes as well

My last cobia trip hooked into a cow nose ray grandson never seen one my son netted it pulled the rig out my son wasnt paying attention when he turned to dump it in the water he turned to close to me the ray slid in the net and the barb went right through my forearm cut the blood off to my hand had to be rushed to try he hospital for emergency surgery and then a second surgery two weeks later that was the worst pain i have ever had almost lost my arm

Nosir. They have to wait outside the mouth of Mobile bay for a pilot boat to guide them to port. Sometimes they will stay anchored in this zone for weeks

Thanks man. Rules state 2 cobia per each licensed angler on the boat that are actively participating in harvesting fish. 3 anglers on the boat. 6 fish. It happens alot, for example a man bringing younger kids or toddlers out offshore to increase there red snapper limit.
