Thank you. I'm glad there are persons like yourself that enjoy the vintage gear. There are quite a few vintage CB enthusiasts here on KZbin. That's cool you have a CAM88 that you run on your side of the Atlantic. I only know of one other CAM88 in your area. The 98 is the same as the 88 with a different look and SWR bridge added is all. I've made the last installment video of this radio and will be uploading it soon. Thanks again for the compliments. They're greatly appreciated. 73's Paul

That was a great deal on the CAM 89. I owned quite a few of them many years ago and have fond memories of them. Maybe I will run across a good deal on one someday like you did. 73's Paul

Another great video Paul - I am going to check out all your videos in the next few days. I was wanting to pick up a Cam 88, but now thinking about the 98 as well. I have a Cam 89 solid-state rig in excellent condition that I picked up from Goodwill for $10 a year or so ago, that I believe may have been their first or one of their early solid-state rigs. It makes me wonder if they reversed 98 to become the 89. I look forward to learning how the 98 turned out. Good Luck and 73. Dave

Thanks Dave. I rushed the last video in this series and therefore the conclusion is not great. I need to revisit the 98 and do a bit more. The CAM89 was not among their first transistor units, they're a bit later. I have video of a Cobra 25 base that was one of their first transistor base radios. I have ads showing it being advertised the same year as the CAM88 and 98 tube radios. They had a SSB transistor base radio around that time as well but I can't remember the model number at the moment

@m0ogy Thanks Dave. Vid #2 is uploaded. I believe I got the audio problem fixed this morning and replaced the channel selector bulb. Time to find that dead crystal.
