Robyn GT-410D CB Radio & SX-12 Base Module

Made in Japan but I don't know what manufacturer produced it.
The mic plug used on the radio is actually a typical 6 pin like that used on RCI radios and others. I thought the pin arrangement was a bit different but I was wrong.
My apologies for the length of this video. I realize most people don't want to watch a 30 minute video about a CB radio. Or even a video half that length. That being said if I can't trim the length down in the future then maybe I just need quit making them.

I Bought This Combo New in 1978 Paid $179.95 for it back then got rid of it and but Engraved some info on the inside and A friend of mine brought it to me minus the Console , which I have harvested A couple different ones over the Yrs Nice Video Thank You

Good to hear from someone that has some of these Robyn radios with the BFO. I've got another fancy Robyn AM mobile with a BFO that I need to try. It probably doesn't work correctly either but worth a try. The BFO that is, the radio does work after I repaired it. 73's Paul

Do people still collect this cb radio. My grandfather had one and I have it and it’s never been used. It’s brand new in the box with manual.

I solved the bfo problem on mine years ago. I increased the coupling between the bfo and the IF strip by bumping up the capacitor value. It came alive! I checked the TX frequency on 38 and it was within 30Hz! Ended up making a contact from my location then in Idaho to Ontario, Canada, and he was running sideband!

Thanks. The module unit with the clock might not be as common. Not sure but I don't remember seeing many. Ten pin yikes. Is it one of those units where all the controls are on the handset?

Thank you. Appreciate the feedback. I really enjoy long length radio related videos as well but I feel most people prefer shorter videos. That's why I get so aggravated with myself when they turn out so long. Currently I don't own any of the RCA Co-Pilots but I've had some of the 14T-303 base radios in the past and really liked them. CB activity is spotty from area to area. Around here it's fairly active but I know others have said the same as you about it being inactive where they live. 73's

Thank you for the feedback. I enjoy making them but get aggravated with myself when they end up being so long. The length of most of them needs to kept well below 10 minutes because really only a small number of us like long length videos about radios. 73's Paul

One of the best looking am radios ever I think.You might be able to free up the clock motor by giving the gear a little twist.Or just pull it and put in a digital clock or counter.Alex

Thanks Ernie. The Granada CB-4 isn't in the Sams CB series but there are three other Granada radios in volumes 107 and 113. I don't have either volume but maybe one of those other three Granada radios mic wires the same as your CB-4. 73's Paul

nice radio i love your radio video's so i don't mind if it's 30 minute's. Have you got a RCA CO-PILOT 14T-303 i had one and for just am i had a good time with it but that was years ago no one talks on the cb any more here in Bloomington IN 73's

Yep it is. Person can wire one of those channel changer button power mics to it but honestly this radio is more of a curiosity/collectible IMHO. 73's Paul

I have had many Robyn with the BFO function and NONE of them were able to clean up ssb transmissions.A cheap way to receive ssb is by taking another radio and remove the final but leave the driver.Key it up and you put the carrier back in the ssb signal.Alex

I think I have two of the 23 channel versions of that one. Mine has a 4 pin mic plug and a single direction up button on the mic, which runs a mechanical solenoid. I had (have??) a base module around someplace too, but I think it had a different model radio with it. And yeah, the BFO for SSB reception sucks. I think I have 2 or 3 different Robyns with that "feature" and its completely useless.

Kinda hokey that the channel selector is on the mic and not the radio. Thats means no way to wire up a power mic.....
