I remember the days Mark when you were testing the Callaway epic, the original release and at that time whether it was cobra or Callaway you were carrying the ball 257 to 261 yards. So now carrying in the 286 yard range with these bombers is an absolute magnificent improvement in your swing and clubhead speed and overall distance. Congrats! Keep working at it and you’ll get the 170 speed you want. Awesome videos keep the comparisons coming on all the new drivers can’t wait to see them. And the new Aerojet is a beauty!

Thanks for the review @MarkCrossfield. I was just fitted yesterday on outside at the range on Trackman by my local Golf Course Cobra Golf Rep. I tried the LS at first but had trouble getting it to launch high enough. The rep than tried the MAX head with the Stiff Hzardous 60 gram shaft. I was launching it with a tight draw. Carry distance was 278 yards and total was 309. Spin was between 2400-2200rpm. I ended up ordering it and its taking my Titleist TRS2 out of my bag.

I like the simplicity of these. They have a nice shape to them with not too much going on with the bottom. A good move away from the past two models and other brands. I’m playing the matte version of the Speedzone Xtrm. I like the look of the crown and top line so much on that. Can’t wait to see these in person

Mark I've always liked your channel, funny, good info and the interesting golf stuff you present. I'm not a big fan of the huge push I see from so many KZbin channels pushing the golf clubs that are being released. To me it's over kill and getting like McDonald's with the up sell with the different models of these clubs. If you want to make it interesting please do a comparison with the legendary Cobra F9 against these new clubs as many would find that interesting - I know I would :)

I was a TaylorMade person for years, not that I only bought their clubs, if something was better to me I'd go with it no matter the brand name, but most good brands have similar stuff to me and I used to lean TaylorMade.. but a few years back I bought a cobra driver and loved it so much I've pretty much, in fact thinking about it I just have game'd Cobra drivers ever since... One reason I think I've never gone back to TM interestingly is twist face, could be just in my head but I do work the ball both ways when I need to, I'm not the lowest handicapper but I do believe ball striking is the strength of my game and I can and will play both a draw and fade, and while it might not be the optimal way to do so I will toe it more to draw it and worry about that being an issue with twist face, although mostly I just love cobra drivers.. fairway woods too... they're not the longest fairway woods but I don't look for that in my fairway woods, I want them to be a consistent length not necessarily a long one, and to be playable from the fairway which I find cobra's to be as good as anything at that. Anyway, I have slowly morphed into a cobra guy over the years and purely due to them making great products imo.

Traded a stealth for the LTDx, I wish I’d done it sooner and not played all through the summer! I’ll be keeping that this year and probably the year after that, great club. I wasn’t sure on the look of these Aerojets, but they’re growing on me.

What’s the main thing to improve ball speed? Strike, speed etc? Thanks 🙏
@16-bit-trip5 Жыл бұрын
Both are important, but as to which is more important, that will depend on you. If you are missing the center of the face you are giving up the "easy" speed the club has to offer. If you can find the middle of the face more often than not the it's going to be able moving the club head physically faster. This is were better technique and speed training come in. The last part of the equation is having equipment optimized for you. You want to have equipment that not only makes finding the center of the face easier, but also maximizes how you swing to get the most speed out of it.

what's your handicap ?
@turtoni1707 Жыл бұрын
Enjoy these reviews. But would like some "higher order" heads up. For example I'm in my mid 60's. Have seen my club speed with 3H drop from mid 80mph to mid 70's over the last 3 years (post Covid). Corresponding distance drop is hammering my handicap (too many longer clubs into the green). So surely whatever club (and assuming you get fitted to the "right" shaft to max the clubhead speed: perhaps I need senior ones now?) there seems to me a be a "fixed" factor? Do you have tables that suggest distance (max, average) you would likely see for given swing speed and loft of club (not the damn fiddle number the manufacturers put on the clubs!). Then surely after that its "just" ensuring the club you like the look - and price :-) - of delivers that ? And perhaps I should grown old(er) gracefully and merely look wistfully at those young chaps wanging their drivers 280 plus :-).

£425 - stupid money but cheap compared to the rest of the big names this year. To be fair the ltdx was a smashing driver so this will probably be as well. I know the tech shouldn’t have really moved but I was hitting the stock of the shelf ltdx last week against my 2018 rogue that I game and it was 100% more forgiving so on average considerably longer (8 yards over 40 shots alternating clubs) longest hit’s coming from the cobra and shortest from my rogue. Forgiveness has definitely come on over the years. I guess if you middle it most of the time then probably you’ll see less difference

Yep I go back and forth between Epic Speed Max LS and Cobra LTDX LS the Callaway is more forgiving but the Cobra goes the furthest. I have been driver heavy since I picked the game up in 2003 and honestly each release is only marginally better. I hit my two 350 yard drives a looong time ago using a Srixon ZR-W for my first one and a Ping i20 was my second one and I have only hit up to 310 recently so is it the Indian or the arrow? All yardages are course only not range as I have hit my longest on the range but no way to tell the full yardages due to nets.

@paultaylor5502 Жыл бұрын
@@waynedwyergolf5373 10 years I totally doubt and it's also the level you play at. My Father played off 18 when I packed up 7 years ago and I would expect him to hit it 10 further due the latest emphasis on forgiveness. I was off +3 and using a 8.5 Razr Hawk tour and compared that (which I still own) to the latest Callaway with the same shaft last week.. 2 yards more carry but 3 yards down overall. Nothing to do with the 7 years as my club was Speed only deviated 1 mph. If you rarely hit the centre of the face (as my Dad ) then forgivness adds the difference, if you could seriously play then very little difference imo
