Freaking getting absolutely sideswiped by the Miyagi flashback where he taught Daniel that he will one day cultivate his own form of karate, plus watching Sam interrupt her dad with a hug after she finally felt heard/seen already had my waterworks going so I didn't tear up for the moment you're describing -- but I did grin like a madman when it happened. What a great show.

I just realized that Thomas Ian Griffith the actor who plays Terry Silver is actually a year younger than Ralf Macchio. Ralf was 27 playing an 18 yr old in Karate Kid 3.

I love how grounded the show is. Kreese going to jail is the ultimate karma. He kept manipulating Silver with his trauma until he broke. Aisha is in a much healthier place. She doesn't need karate anymore, but it help her past her personal insecurities. Amanda recognizing that Tori needs real help and not just a karate enemy to beat down. Even Miguel is great. He's always seen Johnny as a father figure. He's already won the tournament. He doesn't need to do that. But he does need to resolve his father issues to really grow. Beyond the hype moments, I love how they are having the story. P.S. It's also worth mentioning that Will Smith is one of the executive producers. So if Jaden wants to come back...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show so dam much. I think its the best thing as a people have put together in a log time. I started when season 3 dropped last year and binged 1-3 within days then the next day started a rewatch cuz I couldnt get enough. Going to do another rewatch of the movies including 4 with the Swank cuz I skipped it the first time then the seasons again soon 5 cant come soon enough.

First time I’ve ever completely agreed with their ranking. Season 1 was still the pinnacle in my opinion as well. Season 2 was easily the weakest for me. It’s still an excellent season, but I actually didn’t like the school fight as much as everyone did. Peak Cobra Kai for me was the ending scene of season 3 when Johnny and Daniel finally join forces, incredibly hype!

I share some (not all) of Andy's sentiment that it is getting a little frustrating to see some storylines retread (I really thought we were going to get a proper Miyagi-Fang moment at some point and not just a weak tease)... at the same time, it's hard to rail on that too much when a great deal of the other story bits and genuine unexpected twists hit so hard for me. It took a while to get there, but seeing Sam whip out freaking the Bajiquan Shoulder Check and Two-Fisted Punch in her match against Tori? EPIC. Watching so many of the characters learn each others' moves... but also learn from the ethos' behind their respective teachings? Freaking cool as hell. Seeing side characters like Demetri, Tory, freaking Anthony!, get more substantial arcs that I'm actually interested in AND brand new characters introduced THIS season that I want to see more of?? Wild. Cannot WAIT to see where this goes in the next seasons!
