To get rid of the strut towers, why don't you put cantilevered suspension in the front? The inboard shocks could go in a tunnel underneath your knees, and the shifter could mount to the top of the tunnel.

Coming from MoPar Land, I was thinking torsion bars but we're both on the same track: the strut towers need to go away entirely.
@Stereomoo4 жыл бұрын
The Macpherson strut it already has is probably the best option for allowing this seating position, if you went to double wishbone (necessary for a cantilevered spring, or torsion bar) then the upper control arm has to be mounted in the knee space. Also he'd have to design a whole front suspension, instead of leaning on what Porsche already set up to suit the wheelbase etc.

Casey, would there be an advantage in ducting the cooling air into the radiator area by directing it inward behind the front tires instead of under the nose? If part of the goal is downforce then allowing sufficient cooling air under the front of the car partially negates the available force. Allowing the air to curve around (or even partially through) the front wheels leaves the front to work more efficiently I’d think. Just a wild-ass idea.
