I have spent over 80 hrs in the right seat of a Super Viking. But it was quite a while ago, 1986-7. The company had one, and we flew in the midwest. We had other cool planes, but I loved flying this sporty, fast bird. They can climb like crazy, like 1500+ fpm. Not bad for a old babe.

Quick question, how are the maintenance costs and fuel burn on this bird? I love the way it looks, the speed it has, and simply how unique the aircraft is.

I assume that was the stall warning going off from about 5:00 to 5:30 and round 7:50 and 8:00 - 8:45? I've been reading you need to fly the BSV to the stall on landing... didn't realize you had to in the pattern as well! :-) I agree with Bob; that was a really low pattern - down to round 200' turning final...ouch!

horsemoney Hahaha - I've only ever flown IN a PA28 once and that as a passenger, but, even flat out, the poor thing wouldn't have a hope of staying ahead of the BSV from my reading! You should have called them and told them to "EXPEDITE!!!" :-)

notice how it turns off when he extends the gear. it's a great unsafe warning because he had the manifold pressure low enough that the airplane thought it was landing
