Though you wouldn't know it as the most banal and wretched members of that quarter seem to be the only ones EVER bothered with, spoken off, still played and all that shit. The 80s had the best, but that does not extend to all that Madness, Phil Collins, Sting, Paul Weller, Slagdonna, Bon Jovi, Dexys, Starship, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, S/A/W, Heart, Eurythmics, Christopher Cross and most US acts shits the majority keep fawning over. It's acts like this and many of the ones deliberately not mentioned (many of them UK) that are the beating heart, brain and blood and beauty of music and make up what is truly the 80s and no other decade like it before and since. In fact, nothing but 4 decades of shite since!

Franky, sometimes I wonder if we're not just sounding just like our parent's generation often did... Still, while I recognize there is a lot of equally great music in following decades, even today, the fact is that the music industry has clearly given preference to much more superficial. Today's "80's equivalents" have become "alternative", far more difficult to find in the midst of so much straw music. We had alternative as top of the charts mainstream. Indeed a blessed time. Looking back as an 58 year old male. This is class. I preferred Punk, New Wave and Ska much more when I was younger In the late 70ties/early 80ties, and I know a good song when I hear it. This was the beauty back then, the vast variety of styles, genres and class. I know, everything is pretty when you look back, but holy cow bring back the 80ties. Let's get them back

Cock Robin is an incredible phenomenon. I don't know any superlatives that accommodate this bands footprint on modern music. They still sound as fresh as the first time I heard them. As a musician of limited talent, I am struck by the structure and sound of their music and so I listen to a song or so a day, and quite often I end up listening to everything Ive collected by them
