2:55 "That's 2 shots but okay", the most accurate description for my at-home bartending experience. Also, I looked up the gun it was named after because I am after all a 'Murican. It is the Canon de 75 modèle. And the word gun is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. The modèle 75 weighs over 1000 kilos, and fires a 75mm round that weighs over 5 kilograms. To put things into context, our modern rifles shoot 5.56mm rounds and 7.62mm rounds. What I'm trying to say is, if you were to get hit by said "gun", you'd probably want two shots of gin instead of one.

Well - another 'Murrican here - the word "gun" can mean things you can drop into your pocket, things you sling over your shoulder, things you need to hitch horse(s) to (or a tractor if you're feeling adventurous and/or the mud in your part of Flanders is especially deep), or things like the "Schwerer Gustav" which had a bore diameter of 80cm (!!!), had to be disassembled just to be moved by trains (many trains) and was one of the more bloody useless wastes of material anyone in the first half of the 20th Century managed to come up with, so...🤷♂️ As for the French 75 (the cocktail 😏), I make mine with Prosecco, since I can get little picnic bottles of it that are perfect for one glass, and Citadelle gin, since I have a bottle that I'm not using for much...and it's French. Definitely a potent beverage, and a very classy one, too.

@@christopherreed4723 Here in Scotland we talk about the "one o' clock gun" in Edinburgh. It's some kind of 105mm howitzer that is fired every day at 1pm at Edinburgh Castle.

That was awesome!!! Could tell you were having fun and enjoying it!! Ms Cara, most people with guest act a certain way, love seeing you being yourself, I never drink bubbles, both of those drinks look great and refreshing. Great job!!! Seeing you smile and laugh at work, reminds me of that beautiful lady that I love. Bravo, Ms Cara!!!❤️💋

Some people claim that you should add the champagne first because else it will float above the cocktail and not mix properly. The french 75 are certainly on the list of cocktails i need to try, thankyou.

I swear by the "Old Cuban" cocktail as a great example of using white sparkling in a cocktail. As red drinkers, we only ever use white for cocktails.

Love this! Question: How different in taste is Moscato d’Asti from Prosecco? I’ve recently discovered that an Aperol Spritz is the perfect cocktail for me (low in both ABV & “alcohol” taste) and my favorite wine is a bubbly Moscato. I don’t drink enough to warrant having both that & a Prosecco open at the same time, so I’m thinking of substituting. What do you think?

Also, definitely going to try the Hugo!

It really depends how sweet your Moscato is but if it ends up too sweet with the elderflower liqueur then you could add a little spike of lime or lemon juice 😊

SInce Moscato is already sweet, could you use that for the French 75 and not use the sugar?

Would definitely be worth experimenting with if that’s what you tend to have around!
