Great video! I am streamlining my wardrobe to be all classic. To do a classic style you can wear things that skim your figure but DO so tight it looks like you were poured in. If it’s gaping or pulling anywhere it is TOO tight! Focus on good quality basics. Less is more with this style. You can find great pieces second hand. Window shop the better stores so you can recognize the labels if you happen to thrift. Quality is better than quantity. You don’t need labels and too much flash with it. You don’t need designer necessarily especially when you’re starting out. You could even sew your own clothing and it would be just fine. Stay OUT of the leggings, hoodies and the like. You can wear slimmer sneakers preferably in a solid colors. Unless you are doing something active stay out of the athletic wear.
@cocoastyling3 жыл бұрын
Those are great tips!💖 Quality over quantity is definitely important in this style, but that doesn't mean it has to be expensive, especially with timeless pieces, they are easier to find.

@AbdulKareem-uy6hk3 жыл бұрын
@@iusedtolovecheesecake2205 , ***disclaimer*** I never mentioned these men I see daily are my friends. Secondly, both male and female, usually judge ones character based on mannerisms and the way one conducts themselves. Thirdly, how do women today judge a good character? What is one's definition of a quality man today? Lastly, perhaps the "few quality men" today are either Married or those that are single may also find it a challenge in meeting quality women 👀
@iusedtolovecheesecake22053 жыл бұрын
@@AbdulKareem-uy6hk of course, any logical person judges a person overall on mannerisms etc. Also keep in mind you can also meet a person's representative as well. I've dated a man whom everyone would give him praises on his kind gestures, his outgoing personality, his "big heart" little did people know he was suffering with a personality disorder and a whole host of other issues. He kept these things under wraps. No one believed he was like this. A good quality man is a man who's honest with himself and what he wants. A man of integrity, one who's selfless, you get the point. I can agree, trying to find someone of quality is like a needle in a haystack. Too many people again, put forth their representative to use you for personal gain. Neither side trusts the other.

Does anybody ever get that feeling as a black girl when they want to be elegant and refined but just cannot let go of that, how do I say it, perhaps “hood” aspects of their culture like the oversized hoops, the long nails, the colourful lace fronts, the baby hairs etc. Like I have been really interested in elegance and class but unfortunately those black aspects are not considered elegant in today’s society or any society for that matter. So in an event that you are trying to divert your ‘attention’ towards being an elegant black lady, what do you do when you come across your favourite female rapper (e.g Nicki, Meghan or Saweetie) or that stylish black chic on Instagram that doesn’t comply to society’s rules for elegance and you cannot help your love for the black aspects of your culture and want to dress and groom that certain way? I really wish there was some advice for this because it puts me in a serious dilemma.
@tinamagatti36023 жыл бұрын
@Nubian Empress Well thank you for that, but I beg to differ as well... Firstly, there is no celebrity worship here, those celebrities are merely great examples of such ways of dressing and styling so it seemed the obvious pick as an example. Secondly, the only reason the word ‘hood’ can be used to describe black aspects of culture is because it is part of the black culture and way of dressing and styling that has been maintained and respected by the black community for many years, and most especially you can find that in black neighborhood communities, which is referred to as the hood. It’s only offensive if you only look at the negative aspects that people associate with the word hood and not the fact that it’s the place that has promoted and preserved black culture for years. But all in all, opinions and views differ, so thanks once again for your input
@cocoastyling3 жыл бұрын
Culture can play a very big aspect in your personal style. I would say understanding the basic of each style can help guide you, but if you like long nails, hoops, and baby hairs, wear them! Make your own personal style, if you want to wear mostly classy clothes and incorporate one or two elements of other styles you can do that. However, if you do add a lot of rapper elements, it might turn into a boujee style, which isn't bad, it's just a different look. You might be interested in Y2k fashion, it takes a lot of these elements that you like and gives them a preppy and "cute" look. And Y2k does take a lot of inspiration from African-American 90's- 2000's culture.

I have no idea what looks good on me, I spend most of my time indoors but I want to be more out going but still classy. My chest size is large. Its hard for me to find clothing that looks good and wont show off my size G boobs. My chest size is big, my waist is small and my butt is big. I have an hour glass figure tho im a bit plumb in the middle due to my weight 187. I'm working on getting to 130 by next year December. I want to look nice. I want to be more out going. I want to be healthy and happy.
