This was one of the best running documentaries I have seen! I followed every second of the live stream and every time they captured you there was an energy around you. Thank you Matt! Bay Area running legend Chuck Wilson impressed upon me the importance of a positive attitude as I was training for my first 100. It isn't always easy, and because it isn't always easy, it has to be a decision to be positive. Doesn't mean low points won't happen, as this shows out of Sedona, but you can't let negativity take root and grow. Stay positive!

Thanks Damian. And thank you for taking the time to watch it. Projects like this have three major phases for me: 1. Planning. I print wall maps and study elevation profiles and watch whatever video I can find to get mentally ready. 2. Run the thing. In this case that’s nearly a week all it’s own! 3. Make the video. It’s a fun albeit busy and slight stressful way to stay in the enjoyment of the race as I relive it through the documentary I make. It is hard work, all of it, but I love it.

Traveling across the land on my own feet gives me a sense of connection to that place that feels very intimate. Amazing video--great job and congrats on the finish. I used to live in Flagstaff at the based of Mt. Elden and would run up there every weekend--it was awesome to see that it was included in this race, brought back some memories. Can't imagine running that many miles on as little sleep as you had. Super impressive.

Thank you! I stayed in Flagstaff the Friday night before the Monday race start and used the opportunity to climb Mt Elden on fresh legs. It struck me as not a terrible hike. Not easy, but not as hard as I expected. The second time I climbed it, six days and 242 miles later, it was more challenging. I pressed hard going up the second time! That preview hike led to great Strava comments that led me to the best pizza in town. Yum! Thanks for watching!
