I rotate my dog’s oils throughout the week with organic flaxseed oil, MTC oil and Salmon oil. On occasion I may use organic olive oil and avocado oil too. I used to give him organic coconut oil and still do on occasion but when I found out the benefits of MTC oil jumped on it and it’s easier to work with too.

Avocado oil isn't toxic to dogs because it does not contain persin, and it's high in the anti-inflammatory compounds of vitamin E and omega fatty acids. The best remdy for fleas is Neem oil: amzn.to/3iV0Igq You can add two tablesp neem oil and 1/2Tablesp liquid soap to 2 pints warm water, mix and spray the dogs to treat/kill ward off the fleas. You can soak some neat neem oil into a cloth dog collar or bandana to wear out for walks, in the yard to ward off fleas/ticks/mozzies. You can simply spot on the neem oil where fleas/ticks/mozzies hop on board. You can mix the neem oil at 3:1 ie 1 pqrt neem oil to three parts carrier oil ie olive or coconut, mix and rub on where needed. Neem has a garliky/nutty smell, it's ok but using aq few drops of neat Lavender · Chamomile · Myrrh · Ginger · Rosemary · Bergamot · Frankincense sorts that out.

Have you looked into the research done on MCT oil and epilepsy in dogs? Would like to see what your thoughts are, our spaniel was experiencing epileptic fits about once a month and as he is only a young dog we didnt want him to be on medication long term, so have been giving him MCT oil which has completely stopped his fits for over 9 months now.

Yes I've done some looking into MCT oil for this condition and thank you for this information, it all helps. I have been recommending CBD oil and a full raw food diet to stop the fits and this has been very successful also. I shall add MCT to the routine.

That will help a little but it's most likely the diet that's causing issues if there's itching. Sometimes vaccines cause autiimmune issues but I dont know the pups history to say. There's a shift going on at the moment about lauric acid in coconut oil being not so healthy after all but it's stil to be confirmed by more research. MCT oil is the better bet and with it's caprylic acid being great for anti yeast: Organic MCT oil: amzn.to/3MDXeMq Start small 1/4tsp med/large dog to start with or you'll get diarhea. Research shows caprylic acid can directly treat some yeast infections. It’s believed it can destroy Candida by destroying its cell membrane. Ideally, your dog’s caprylic acid would come from MCT oil. Great brain food too for older dogs. Start small first week.

Your welcome Patricia. These two oils are for slightly different uses really. The coconut oil is great for yeast issues internally, dry skin, dry noses, abrasions and so on, a great cleanser oil. Fish oil on the other hand is for the Omega 3's to balance fats in the body and help the skin grow properly among other benefits. Hi Dan, my dog is about 12 pounds. She’s a cockapoo mixed bichon. She eats once a day when I come home from work is it safe to give her a teaspoon of coconut oil in her Kimbles every day or is it not safe to do that, she tends to eat the Kimballs like a quarter cup to half a cup when there’s coconut oil in it when I don’t put coconut oil she tends to chew and possibly spit it out onto her mat and she still leaves the majority of her food behind when I give her the coconut oil she tends to eat the whole thing. Yes its fine for what you describe. I'd also expand that idea to include some egg, sardines and a little organs. I say these options for their nutritional qualities. Some extra options to think about, just small amounts. Just remove some of the kibbles to compensate.

Thank you for replying. She was on Diamond Naturals chicken and rice all life stages. They had me start her on Hills I/D low fat wet food (cans), and to add the dry version. But I can't possibly afford that with the amount my Mastiff needs to eat. Currently (and hopefully not hurtful to her?), I am feeding her chicken/oatmeal/egg whites in the morning, and liver/rice/carrots/green beans/broccoli/a little bit of peas for the rest of the day. She is taking antibiotics and prednisone, liver pills, clotting pill, and vit B12 pill from the vet - started a week ago. I have also started mixing herbs/spices in her foods, (not all together) - ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, dandelion root extract, milk thistle, iron supplement from the vet....I would like to start the MCT (is it considered less fat?) and kefir, but am waiting until my friend sends me a new batch. I make my kefir at home, but haven't found r the last 4-5 months.

I highly recommend you stop the prednisone, antibiotics and possibly the liver meds (what brand are they?). Pred. never ends well. You can use natural antibiotics such as Oregano oil: amzn.to/3ulnF1T Just mix 1 part oregano oil to 7 parts olive oil ie 1 drop organo oil to 7 drops olive oil and fold into a bread treat and down the hatch. I'm using the oregano oil myself these last few days, great antibiotic option. I'm just wanting you to undestand the detriment of vet drugs over time when there natural versions of everything. Dandelion root extract and milk thistle are excellent (this is your natural liver meds). MCT is better than coconut oil... all the benefits without the problems and yes, less fat. Re eggs, use the whole egg and serve it raw for best nutrition. I also make my own kefir at home. Ask for any clarifications or advice. All the best.

Cod liver oil is good for dogs. A better more stable choice is flax or hemp seed oil for various reasons I have discussed in previous videos. Here's some detailed information to help you understand your dogs kidney needs: Protecting The Kidneys: It’s crucial to protect and support healthy kidneys to avoid kidney disease in dogs. 1.Feed a fresh, whole food diet. A balanced raw diet will give your dog the protein, vitamins and nutrients he needs to function well. Adding the following to your dog’s regular diet will also help support his system and protect kidney function: o Eggs - easily digested complete food o Small fish like mackerel, anchovies and sardines (canned is good and convenient) o Sprouts o Small seeds - flax or sesame are great (crushed) o Herbs - dandelion and parsley (can gets as tincture if not fresh) 2.Add some fresh chopped herbs to your dog’s food - a pinch per 10 lbs up to 1 Tbsp for a dog 100 lbs or larger. Yes, that's a good strain. Monolaurin pills, probably better than actual coconut oil as that's converted into monolaurin. I now recommend using MCT oil over coconut oil, same advantages but without the issue of lauric acid, lately deemed a problem from some testing.
