In the mid 90's, I used to live across the hall from a Chinese family, and because they knew I was single, worked a lot (and no life) they always invited me to their family dinners during festival months. One day my neighbor Diedie offered me to help her make mooncake because I always enjoyed eating them so much lol. Wow! It is a labor of love for sure. She made the regular ones that you had to bake. They were so yummy. I used to open both our doors and blow the fan across the hall so my apartment would be filled with the sweet smell when I got home haha. Now, everytime I see or eat mooncakes, it takes me back to '95 when I lived in NY and eating mooncakes with her family. I didnt speak Chinese, didnt understand any joke, and couldnt use chopsticks to save me, but they were warm, and fun, and very welcoming. I miss those days. Thank you for your video. It was a pleasure to watch. I am sure home made always tastes best, but I am lazy haha Have a nice day ^~^

Hi Jasma! Should you steam the snow skin for 25 minutes on high or medium heat? I can't find this recipe described in your blog. In the Purple Snow Skin Mooncakes recipe, that's about all the ingredients, and it says to steam it on medium heat for 30-35 minutes. For this coconut snow skin recipe, you say 25 minutes, but Google doesn't translate for me whether it's on high heat or low heat. I'm also writing this with the translator, I hope I can formulate my question well.

@JasmaFusionCuisine
@JasmaFusionCuisine 2 жыл бұрын
这个椰蓉馅已经通过蒸的方法加工过了,如果再拿它做月饼的馅料去烤,实际上是二次加工,变干是自然的。你可以通过增加黄油或者椰浆的用量试一试。
