Hi Luke you have just brought back memories fishing in the lytham estery. I fished there 40 years ago shrimp 🦐 whiting flatties and cod if you were lucky, the river was well polluted in them days, full of sewage what a mess. Nice watching you take care it can get really ruff on the river. Don't forget to wear your life jacket. Nice one.

Nice little Whiting fest, You'll get yourself a cod this winter I'm sure, I assume you mean from the Ribble, as there's quite a few cod shore marks round Lancs and Mersey (you'll surely already know) never had a cod from Ribble personally (but never fished it over winter) so I'd be interested to see one come out. It is a food laden eastury after all, cod love one of them. Tightlines dude.

Hi luke we fish the same marks but we launch from south shore boat club , and normally head for rossall, hard work on beach launching as waves are normally a nightmare,but like the look of were you launching from looks nice and calm lol

Hi mate, sorry I answered your other comment as if you were new to boating which I now realise you aren't sorry haha, yeah I think rossall and fleetwood way seem to have the better cod fishing I'd like to fish more up that way with the boat, it's alright down here as like you say you can hide in the estuary so it's calm but it still has it's fair or rough days haha

Another good video luke I'm not saying u can't catch cod with that boom rig but u better off sticking with running ledger rig for cod as they are pretty much bottom feeders mate, you want to pin that bait to seabed. No doubt u ll get them soon tight lines 🎣👍

I launch from Lytham green causeway mate, I would say though 4wd is preferable there, its done with 2wds like vans etc but I've also seen them get stuck as its not a proper slip its slimy pebbles so just a word of caution if you go for it because I havent seen the condition of it for awhile

Thanks mate, I beach launch here which I realise isn't ideal but I also launch from a few of the boat clubs up the coast which I imagine would be best for me to advise you to go with a sib as they have tractors etc and proper slipways that give a bit more scope for launching, tight lines :)

@@fishingandherping7681 Hi Thanks for the reply, i am already a member of the Blackpool light craft club, but i would have liked to have known where you launched from, as it is a fair jog from the club to the Ribble estuary, even though it is a sib, i have a trailer. any info on the launch site would be appreciated.

nice vid, nothing wrong with whiting, a great tasting fish, also big cod eat whiting, many years winter beach fishing, once the whiting had left the coast if you didnt catch a cod, you caught nothing, so never not like catching the humble whiting, dont know it youve tried whole quid as a cod bait, also on a small tide and light gear, great sport, and NEVER be in a boat with those waders on, if they are the type i think they are and did i miss your life vest?
@fishingandherping76812 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, yeah I don't mind fishing through the whiting, I have heard of the big cod taking whiting and whole squid I'll have to use them as bait next time, worth the wait for a nice Cod :) . Yeah I didn't realise til after this video that I'd completely forgotten the lifejacket so I think I'll get a few comments saying the same thing, in all of my other videos you'll see I'm wearing one, just completely forgot this session, oops.

@@fishingandherping7681 best to use a pennell rig, small hook with a bit of bait on and maybe a 6/0 above that to hook the big un, although on the beach my mate had a pin whiting on a 4/0 and a 16 1/2 pound cod on the 1/0 with no bait on it when fishing a pennell rig
