@squizzerl1478 Жыл бұрын
That is scientifically untrue. We are where we are based on thousands of decisions that were made for us before we were capable of making our own. Sometimes decisions that span generations. We are products of our environment. If we are not taught proper behaviors, coping skills, given proper education, proper discipline (NOT beating your kid because they talked back), access to physical and mental health services, and a supportive environment of competent adults, we are not going to turn out as well rounded law abiding, stable people. Our responsibility begins once we reach the age of reason, once our actions start having serious consequences, once we become aware that there is an issue with us, then and only then do our own personal decisions begin to be the be all to end all (and this happens at very different ages for people). I suggest you start studying up on the actual human condition so you can have more empathy and understanding for others and you can put to rest the age old blanket blame game of "if you don't act like we say you should, that's all your fault". Instead, it's "you need to begin to address the issues that are keeping you stuck in this toxic cycle, it wasn't your fault for a, b and c, but x, y and z are now your responsibility. Here are the resources to help you."

What? Why should she go to jail when she has PLANS, and she's cleaning her house and all? > Not to mention that she doesn't WANT to go to jail! (Unlike everybody else in the world, who are just yearning to go. LOL) Now, I do not know from direct experience, but my ability to reason tells me that sitting in jail for 2 days (even if it is a weekend) would not be the end of the world, and it would definitely not be as bad as sitting in there for 30 days. If you are guilty, admit it, own it, and get the punishment over with, and move on, instead of being an idiot and putting off the inevitable results of your own actions. Another case of arrested brain development, and inability to accept what the very nice LEOs told her "Sometimes you have to act like an adult and take the consequences of your actions."

@TheSpicyLeg Жыл бұрын
@@danielvereb4579It is not hard to understand. Everything in life is decided by incentives, and disincentives. If the disincentive for an action is far less than the incentive, most people will do the action. If cheating on your spouse (incentive: having a new sexual experience, thrill, etc/disincentive: divorce, your reputation ruined, family cuts you off, etc) carried the previous incentive structure, would you choose to cheat? The incentive here for this animal is not paying all the fines and fees, and still be able to drive where she wants to go. The disincentive is a night or two in jail, and more fines she won’t pay. Which does she choose? The incentives make running from police preferable. See, in previous eras running from the cops resulted in getting carried into the bushes, and having a billy club thump you in the kidneys until your shit your pants and you went home with the worse headache imaginable. That was a BIGGGGGGG disincentive. People didn’t much care for that. But your society went soft, weak, permissive. Now, the incentive structure is in favor of crime, because you don’t have the balls to disincentivize crime.
