Hi and thanks for joining me in this devlog video! In this video I do some level design, I improve climbing for the player creature and I also add a couple new alien animals to the game.
In case anyone is wondering;
the smoke was a motion tracked simulation (my laptop wasn't actually on fire) and you can't actually drag code directly into the amplify shader editor, that was edited.

Hello! You mention that you were worried about your levels being too focused on just running and shooting. This is just a suggestion that might help make your "indoor/building" level designs more interesting. Players basically have free 360 movent because of your climbing mechanic, so when building your buildings, You might want to take inspiration from the M. C. Escher painting Relativity. Using this painting as inspiration for the buildings would help give that "alien" look and feel to the designs as well as making sure that your walls/ceilings wouldn't just be flat but have variation. Maybe you read this, maybe this comment gets lost in the sea of other comments. either way, This game is looking great! Glad to see this dev-log after a long period of inactivity. Can't wait for more!

This is a very nimor thing but ,I think having the option to holster the weapon while being in "human-mode" will be a nive addition and will also make the player fit more into the calm and warm looking environment, this could also boost movement speed for exploring or running away

Hi! I'm PolandSilver and I'm going to be the hobbyst gamedev. I thing it is cool for highschool, like you can practice and share full versions of games just after 18 and have that as work for collage. I love to watch people making their games, but there is no such honest person as you, who can admit to mistake, or some things he want to practice more and who is saying only what is important. It's visible how much effort you are putting into that game. I hate that there are still more games that are run of the mill, AAA games are too typhical for me, but saddest thing is that there are more and more indie games that are crippled DayZ clones, packs of paint-by-numbers logical minigames or Minecraft clones. Thats dissapionting for me, because I'm playing only original indie games or really good original games like Dark Souls. Indie games should be made with love and originality, by creators who can and have to risk with original ideas to compete AAAs. I'm delighted looking at your boss design. If you would make it difficult game with that original mechanics, with simple planning, thinking about your all tools and enemy's weak points, like Horizon: Zero Dawn, where you also have sometimes to look at enviorment and plan, observe and experiment with enemies, to find their secrets, it would be total masterpiece. I'm sure that's not only my opinion. I'm waiting your game and as person addicted of getting new and original experiance, I'm declaring to play your game and share your devlogs. Oh and please ad something like enormous creature swimming at the sky at the background in some open location. 😁

alright, this might not work for the plans you have for this game, but how about: you are an AI created to control a harvester robot the point of the game is to collect recources on a planet / in a solar system, after that you go back to some sort of space station / hub were you can buy upgrades, new weapons and gear. with this new equipment you can take on more difficult foes and maybe even go to other places / planets. "recources" could be gathered from hunting, mining, foraging and fighting the big robots. since you are a robot, the equipment system could make a lot of sense. love your work, you are extremely underrated.

Hey Codeer, i watched your Devlogs and i am hyped on the game release. I got some questions to you about the game and his future features: - do you think about implement Multiplayer? (would be stressful to sync all objects i guess) - will it be possible to play with a controller? - what sort of genre will it be in the final version? - on which platforms you will release it (Pc Only, Playstation, Nintendo, XBox, other third Party) I am hoping that you create a good game. Looking Forward!
@Codeer
@Codeer 3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! the game won't have multiplayer as the scope is already quite large and multiplayer isn't my strong suit haha. Yes I'll actually be showing the controller support in the next devlog! For the genre, it's a semi-open world third person shooter where you can climb, not sure if that genre exists lol. I'm aiming for pc mainly, and perhaps afterwards I can look into consoles.
