Awesome video my man! Just did this job today! I'm going to help everyone with an additional shop tip! If you remove the nuts to the bottom if the transmission mount...raise housing extension till it feels at a close stop using a jack stand. I used a piece of 2x4 on top of the stand to give you more height! The pan comes off effortless like butter! Oh and instead of using those cheap transfer pumps...I have the Mityvac 7201 for many years. I modified the top hose fitting that's at the top cover with a 1/4 NPT male shop hose to fit your air hose compressor. You need to make an adapter to use a valve lever fitting so you can control the air flow. You don't want that full blast...but just enough like 45psi. Works so much faster than pumping that thing! Worked for me for the past 8 years! Brother you'll save so much time adding that fluid!

Yes to both above comments. Aditrionally, this flush should be done 3 times to flush out all the old fluid inside the torque Convertor, not just once.
@RyanCamarattaАй бұрын
@@badass1gdo you change it 3 times back to back and then drop the pan and replace filter last? And what do you need to do in-between those three changes to make sure the TC is flushed as well?
@SuzukiKid400Ай бұрын
@@RyanCamarattathe idea is that you’re diluting the old fluid each time you drain and refill. After the first flush, the new fluid in the pan mixes with the old fluid in the converter. Then you drive for 500 miles, flush again. Another 500 miles, then flush again. By the third flush, there are only negligible diluted remnants of original fluid remaining. GM used to ask dealers to power flush the transposition with a special machine that connected to the transmission oil cooler lines, but it apparently damaged seals in the tranny so now they prescribe the triple flush.

@Trooper33 Жыл бұрын
I just did this, and even with ratcheting down the exhaust as far as it will go, the pan wouldn’t get past a few parts sticking down. I was able to get the filter out, wipe it all out really well and reinstall. My clearance for hose between the exhaust and tranny was also a lot less than this, so filling when hot was a task.

Added the Lube Guard and they stopped shuttering but did not fix the other issues. Fluid was changed 20k miles ago. Decided to go with the Mobile LV HP and it completely fixed everything. @rileypup595915 күн бұрын
Yes. If you use the Mobil One Blue Bottle ATF, lube guard is not required. I got immediate results by getting like 6 quarts siphoned out the fill plug and putting in 6 quarts. I did this again like after 5000 miles. The shudder disappeared on my first 6 quart swap. I used one of those oil change siphons to siphon from the fill plug and used a converted pesticide sprayer ($12 at Home Depot and some 3/8 tubing) to fill back up. Don’t use Mobil one Black Bottle ATF or regular Mobil 1 ATF. I could tell the shudder disappeared by seat of pants feel and also by portable scanner/no slippage.

The wire harness and evap is the only thing that will be in the way, and the manner in which it comes down. Theres a non removal frame structure that makes it a challenge.
