The circuit looks pretty solid. A healthy amount of elevation change. The first sector looks rather technical. I think the drivers will probably love this track.

The Circuit of the Americas is designed to incorporate many features of successful European tracks, such as Istanbul Park's turn 8 (right instead of left), Maggots and Beckets from Silverstone and the first corner from the A1-Ring (or the Red Bull Ring as we're now supposed to bloody call it)

Been driving on the roads for 6 years now, never had a crash. Runner up in a karting championship this year too. Don't tell me I can't drive because I like a Codemasters F1 game. I have a Fanatec CSR wheel, and elite pedals too... I'd take a seat in a real kart any day over a video game. People who enjoy racing play F1 2011, rFactor, iRacing or whatever. People who can actually race, are more than likely out there doing it.

this track with its mix of high g force corners and tight turns combined with the long straights should make it full of overtakes and very challenging on the drivers and wear out the tires! This could end up being a famous and well respected track.

agreed. the blades of grass are even moving. there's a lot of subtle visual improvement here. lighting, shadows, textures, depth. etc.

Those games are expensive as hell, not to mention unavailable on consoles. Codemasters' games, while not perfect simulations, are still fun. I'll take my $60 F1 game every year, thank you very much.

Turn 1 is reminiscent of the A1 Ring, then there's the Maggots/Becketts complex from Silverstone and later there's Istanbul Park's Turn 8.

To me the weird part is that some of the first corners look like Becketts and Maggots from Silverstone and a part of the last portion looks like Hockenheim's sections after the second hairpin

It is WHEELS settings, not the steering wheel. Steering wheel is constant 450*, wheels' turning could be adjusted

There are changes in this game at the moment the main ones they've talked about are the young driver test and localised weather but on an interview at e3 they said there are 2 more main features which will be talked about later one of which was a big new feature in career mode. This game will end up being very good

Oh man, I love this track! Its like Spa and Suzuka combined! Turn 1 is epic, you cant see the apex untill you commit to a line. The odd thing in the game is that the gear box only lets you go up to 198mph. I know you can hit well over 210 on some of the straits if the 7th gear was a bit taller. I managed a 1:42.779 on here in Kimi's E40. I'm sure the real life drivers are gonna love this track!!

The front wing adjustments were only in the 2010 rules. I do think you should be able to adjust wing levels during a pitstop like in real life, like when the rain comes down and you need a change in balance. You should be able to press, say, left on the D-Pad and then either up, down, left or right for a wing preset for your next stop. The 4 presets being set in the garage in the main set up screen.

Those people complaining about the car noise must be def because I have never heard a more realistic noise in any f1 games watch the video on KZbin that compares f1 2010 ,2011 and 2012 game and real life. The upshifts could hav a little improve and the echo noise but it's pretty much perfect

I'm glad all of you guys can be so optimistic. Realistically though, 3 months is not nearly enough for any major changes. I've seen games that advertise gameplay a year before release date and the final product wasn't any different. I can almost guarantee that what we see here is what we're going to get. Pretty sad how unpaid fans can create the most realistic F1 mods on rFactor, but a company with millions at their disposal still can't seem to get the details right.

Have you even watched F1? Locking up his front left tyre on a hard left. This looks almost identical to real life applications. The weight is in the front/outside, so the inside front wheel doesn't have as much friction, and since the braking bias is more-so in the front the tend to lock up. The only way for the tyres to lock up in the game is if you turn off ABS (which is not realistic, but its just a handicap avail.) Which was not used in this video.

I noticed a lot of similarities from some famous Japanese tracks in this track. 0:35 It's the Spoon Handle from Suzuka! 1:19 It's the final 4 corners from Fuji Speedway. Also the long sweeper turn from the same track.

I have just written a lot of critics about this game in another video. But that was the 2011 version. I've just found out that the 2012 is already in progress. I must say that I've just got really hopeful that physics are gonna improve. You can check something really important here: the game is so fast anymore. 2010/11 are way too fast, out of reality. This looks better, it seems that one has more control over the car. I hope they surprise us this year.

It seems that the turns 8 and 9 ( seen at 0:47 ) are a bit too tight compared to the real track layout.

I don't have and am not planning on buying F1 2011, I only have F1 2010, so F1 2012 is a bigger upgrade for me than most people, as I will be getting all the upgrades from 2011 and 2012 combined, so it makes more logical sense buying it than it may be for others.
