When faced with multiple attackers, one should take care of attacker that is weak first. 1. Lower the numbers 2. Don't get surrounded ( via running and fighting anyone who catches up ) 3. That actually WILL work, but only if it's a bullying type of situation. Very often guys (or girls) will join in a group of bullies because they feel safety in numbers! It's especially true if a couple of the people in the group are actually quite tough or at least look big and strong. However, the majority of the people in the group probably have no desire to risk serious injury or worse, if the situation starts getting ugly. Take out the biggest or toughest guy, and seriously hurt him, and the group may quickly start to dissolve. On the other hand, if it's a group of gang members who sent there specifically there to attack and hurt you (or worse) they are not likely to back off just because you hit one guy. They are likely used to being in fights and attacks, and will be alot more motivated not to fail in their mission. That's when you really are in deep trouble.

if adrenaline kicks in u may find you have superhuman strength, thats option f, wait for adrenaline to kick in, all you need is to be cornered, its like the incredible hulk when he goes through his metamorphisis from david banner, there are mechanisms in the body that hold you back, only give you 50-60 percent of your potential as a way to protect you from overexerting yourself and causing yourself an injury, if cornered those mechanims switch off for a short time, a few minutes, and your given access to 100 percent of your strenght, speed, you even get a brainboost, 10 percent brain activation goes to 40 percent, brain lights up, muslces light up, this is how women have managed to lift up cars off of their children stuck under them, two girls lifted a tractor off their father when he was trapped under it, i am telling you that in a situation even 10 - 1, you can win, if you allow yourself to be cornered,

The key is not to get surrounded and keep your back to the open. If you get cornered your dead and if you get surrounded your dead. While your shuffling around keeping them from surrounding you, attack the aggressors. If you have no weapon aim for vitals that will seriously injure the individual or kill them, by this time lethal force will most likely be justifiable. If you have a edge weapon do the same but remember to keep them in a group and keep one between you and them to your best of your ability. If one has a firearm they won't shot thru their friend and if they do your odds of living is higher than being a open target. Fire arm weapons are the same, when you shuffle around make sure to shoot the ground at their feet. This way they will panic or get shot giving you better odds of escaping or disabling the opponent. If you want to shoot them in the chest its up to you as well. Remember most states can agree... if you are in fear of great bodily harm or death lethal for is acceptable. ALSO if the person or people attacking you have the ability, means, and intention to cause great bodily harm or death you can defend yourself with UP TO LETHAL FORCE.

Well said. I spent 17 years dealing with criminals in close quarters 8 of which I was an instructor. There's a lot of rubbish talked about self defence and that generally works on the principle that you can be taught some, "Magical techniques," that will always work and once you've learned them you don't need to do anything else, no hard work with regard to fitness, strength or most importantly, pressure testing. If I were a young man and had to build myself a complete all round game I'd look to three areas, upright defence, ground game and weapons, probably a combination of boxing/muay tai, judo/jujitsu and kali/silat. But underpinning all of those really good fitness, especially cardiovascular because the truth is, a lot of the time running might be your best option for staying alive, especially when weapons are involved. Really well presented, I liked this.

I got jumped by 5 dudes, I was about 6ft and 170lbs having only trained in wrestling. They surround me, one tries to choke me, I dodge and land him on the ground, multiple kicks and punches come in, I defend The back of my head laying on the ground. There was a rock on the ground. I took it and swung at one s leg, got up, threw one dude away, punched the other one then ran off. 2 guys chased after me for about 3 blocks then I lost them. That's when I learned keep your distance, don't go to the ground, keep your corner, have an escape route ready

Places run drills for this situation. You need to practice with close family members with waving them over or just explain to them what to do. If you have the focus of the attackers then find a way to wave your loved ones out of the way. It's hard to juggle and situational awareness along with trying to avoid dangerous places are key things. There's a lot of situations tho so it's best to train somewhere that will drill these scenarios with your family

It's interesting that Aikido multiple attacker drill serves to develop similar skills. If you replace the throw with a strike, the rest of it is similar. Keeping one attacker between you and others at all times, and avoiding being circled.

back when i was a young man,21 y.o.,i think, i got jumped by three guys when i walked out of a check cashing store in atlanta,georgia. i threw the first punch,n the 2nd n 3rd, i caught a few glancing blows,but nothing serious. and i kicked all 3 of their asses.they were not completely k.o.ed, but one had a broke knee,[i could see the bone sticking out], the other was doubled over because i knocked the breath out of him, n the other had gotten hit a few times n was waving his hands while backing up,saying"okay man,thats enough".. it all happened so fast that i really didnt have a chance to decide to run or fight. i think that was probably the best i have ever done in a fight. btw, im not a big guy.at the time i prob.weighed 165, n the attackers were bigger,all of them. ill tell you what, fighting 3 men is no easy task, if i would have had the time to think, i probably would have tried to run. and i had studied karate for a long time, but still,1 against 3 is not good odds.idc who u r, or how much training you have.

I used my voice and unpredictable action to avoid a gang beating, you cannot control the situation physically but you can temporarily have a mental advantage. I was cornered, absolutely no escape with 4 guys coming at me. I reached into my pocket and charged screaming at them and they instinctively moved away and I blew passed them, banter the whole time I was shouting and drawing attention to the area they kept coming at me so I just kept backing up heading for more populated areas and continually causing a lot of sound, they quickly just got in their car and sped off, although they did mange to push me down but I got up quick. That’s just my experience, I tried to take the fight to an area with witnesses and people potentially around so they’d be less likely to do serious harm to me if they know they’re being seen. I kept shouting so it created a panic in their minds as they realised sooner or later people are gonna start investigating, I also strategically positioned myself in an area I had multiple exits, rather than being cornered as I was initially. If you can drag out the time eventually they will lose their opportunity and MAY call it a day. Simple shouting and positioning saved me, but every situation is different.

Boy Presto one thing to do is to jump In the middle of the fight and eat something......it actually works..Because in a fight people get tense and one thing a tense person dosent do is eat so when you go in the midddle of them and eat they wouldn't look to attack you and plus they wouldn't be able to reach the other person

I been in a 1 VS 20. But only 5 were actually fighting, others blocked. This was in Fifth grade, I had to pin down one of them, never done before. I was a well-known but quiet kid, never really had beef. They weren’t after me but my friend, I was the only person fighting on our side. The best way to deal with more than one attackers is by running if you can. Now, you might say, “But they’ll just chase you!”, and yes, they probably will..But you have an advantage because they’re moving as a disorganized unit, and you’re moving as an individual. Try to get somewhere that’s hard to get to, use your environment, climb stuff. If you know how to do all that, you’ll be able to escape.

How I defend myself: I put myself in their reach, letting them jab me, but I move, grab their arm, land them on their back, and then do a hand-stand to kick the other two down. If one of them grab me, I'll kick my foot out of their grab, do a split, and then punch them in the balls, just like Johnny Cage

MB Gaming There are no guarantees. You have to take your best shot to survive, and hope for the best. We train to increase our chances, that's all we can do.

MB Gaming the point is not to stand in one place, move around, keep one person that's closer to you as a shield, strike first and then run. Once you run, get to the closest store, etc. grab something such as a stool, a chair and use that as an equalizer.

+MB Gaming If you can adapt what you learned here, you can strike first and RUN. This serves two purposes: You could potentially disarm one attacker (unlikely); you would temporarily disable one attacker and you can make your run. Running, from what I understand, is completely acceptable. Don't stay there and try and be a hero.
